i just got 5mg oxycodens. e to have oxicontin. cani still break them dwn/ ## Why are you breaking them down? It is not safe to break down any tablet and snort or inject it. Tablets contain fillers, not all of which are meant to be broken down by the body. Many are just expelled in our normal waste. If you snort or inject them, you are inserting these substances directly into your body and risking blockages. ## yes. pxy codone is all the same you are able to break them im prescrbed one and a half a day and was told to break it in half

Most of them contain fillers, as well as the active ingredient and not all of these fillers are meant to be broken down by the human body. I'm in pain mgmt. I've been denied usual meds (3 days late on refill) 50mcg fentanyl and 5mg oxycodone for severe neck pain after ACDF. The doc says my UA is "inconsistent" bc I'm not showing positive for Versed. I see him in 2 days to discuss this, meanwhile my meds are gone and I'm very concerned. My question is, why would I test negative? The UA is taken within 30 min of IV administration of Versed after epi injections. ANY info you can provide is welcome. I'm very disappointed in my Dr as I truly thought he cared and to leave me in withdrawal and even 4 days out until he has me scheduled to talk about "inconsistency" is a heart breaker. ## Thanks for your reply! Some of my history of treatment for my Chronic Pain. I have suferred since 1980's : was prescribed Vicodin until I could no longer tolerate tylenol and was referred to the "Pain aClinic in my HMO. I was prescribed 80mg of Oxycontin and 5mg Oxycodone for break through pain. The intake Physician said that if I needed more to contact him. I was told at the time that Oxycontin/codone was entirely safe for the treatment of pain without the damagiing effects to the body. Is it safe to dissolve these pills in water and inject them? I have not been able to find anything regarding any additives or binders in Oxycodone IR pills that might make injection unsafe or ineffective. The 5mg pills are small chalky and white and appear uncoated, although when placed in a small amount of water after crushing, not all of the white residue completely dissolves, even upon moderate heating. ## I can't tell you anything about the exact inactive ingredients, without knowing who the manufacturer is, however, the fact that they do not completely dissolve has obviously already given you your answer.
