Bystolic Twice A Day

I just started on bystolic and am unsure how often to take it. After 14 hours, my bp is very good, and a bit low. I don't know whether to take another with my bp at this rate(117/74). Would it drop too low? Should I take it anyway to remain on a schedule? So confused ## 5mg bystolic ## Have you consulted your doctor? You should definitely consult with your doctor, however, just as a general rule, blood pressure that is 90/60 or higher, is not considered dangerously low, unless it is causing you symptoms, such as nausea, dizziness and drowsiness. 117/74 is actually considered to be at a normal level. How often has your doctor told you take it? Was it prescribed once daily, or twice daily? As I've already stated, low blood pressure numbers, within reason, are not dangerous, unless...

My mother has been taking Bystolic 5 mg for a few years. She has also had problems with short term memory loss in that same time period. The memory problem is worsening and I'm worrying that she might be taking the Bystolic twice. If it has caused the memory issues to start with, a double dose would be a very bad thing. Has anyone else connected Bystolic with memory loss? There are mentions of it on numerous sites, but they all say don't go off Bystolic on your own. Any thoughts?? ## Hello, Becky! How are you? How old is your mother? NO, that is not a known side effect of the Bystolic. Is she on any other medications? Have you tried observing her take them to make sure she doesn't double up?

Taking Bystolic 5.0 mg once a day for atrial fibrillation. It makes me extremely tired. Just wondering if I cut the pill and took 2.5 mg twice a day would make me less tired? ## Aspirin a Day ...... do they really know what time it is ? ## Is by Bistolic akin to sotalol? I have been taking sotalol for years, and it may be having the same effects on me. ## @Yvette, Theoretically, a smaller dose would affect you less and therefore you'd probably experience less severe side effects. It may be worth considering if you get your doctor's approval. @Zorro, Bystolic (Nebivolol) is indicated for use in treating high blood pressure. Sotalol is indicated for use in treating heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias). While they're both used for treating cardiovascular related abnormalities, t...

I have been on Toprol XL 25mb twice a day for almost 6 years. Love the drug, but it appears to be wearing off. I am experiencing withdrawal type adrenaline surges after about 7-9 hours so the pills aren't lasting in my system anymore. I went to my cardio today and he gave me Bystolic 10 mg pill samples. He said to take 10 mg tonight and then start taking 20 mg. I asked him why such a high dose? Last year he gave me 5 mg Bystolic samples but I decided to stick with the Toprol. I am wondering if the once a day 20 mg Bystolic is comparable to two 25 mg Toprol XL pills...or is this too high a starting dose? He is a cardiac surgeon and I questioned him but he just said I need to work up to the 20 mg. My bp has been well maintained around 115/65 until recently where stress has caused it t...

my creatinine has always been normal. The result from 7/1/09 was 1.14. I am a type 2 diabetic with mild-mod hypertension. I take metformin 1000 twice daily, byetta 10 mcg twice daily, diovan 160/12.5 in the am and diovan 80 mg at night. I am really concerned about this sudden rise in my creatinine. Over the past year my levels ranged from 0.7 at the lowest to 0.83 at the highest - and now this reading. I had the study repeated this morning and am waiting for the results. About 1-2 months ago, my BP increased to 160-170's systolic and I was also started on Bystolic 2.5 mg. My pressure has since returned to normal since I stopped using Aleve. I now no longer have to take the Bystolic. The Dr wants me to do a 24 creatinine clearance. I'm really scared that this could be something s...
