Aminophylline Drug Index

Aminophylline is a compound of the bronchodilator theophylline with ethylenediamine in 2:1 ratio. The ethylenediamine improves solubility, and the aminophylline is usually found as a dihydrate.[1] Aminophylline is less potent and shorter-acting than theophylline. Its most common use is in the treatment of airway obstruction from asthma or COPD. Aminophylline is a nonselective adenosine receptor antagonist and phosphodiesterase inhibitor.[2] Contents 1 Medical...

Alupent Metaproterenol

Orciprenaline, also known as metaproterenol, is a bronchodilator used in the treatment of asthma.[1][2] Orciprenaline is a moderately selective β2 adrenergic receptor agonist that stimulates receptors of the smooth muscle in the lungs, uterus, and vasculature supplying skeletal muscle, with minimal or no effect on α adrenergic receptors. The pharmacologic effects of β adrenergic agonist drugs, such as orciprenaline, are at least in part attributa...

Theraputic Class is Xanthine Bronchodilator ## I took Tedral and copirinoal (not sure of the spelling) in liquid forms when I was young to control my asthma. I would like to know if either are steriods and the long term side effects of each one. Thank you. ## Tedral is similar to Theophylline. Took them in the 70's. I took allergy medicine copyronil made by Lilly as a young child.

Formoterol Drug Index

Formoterol, also known as eformoterol, is a long-acting β2 agonist (LABA) used as a bronchodilator in the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Formoterol has an extended duration of action (up to 12h) compared to short-acting β2 agonists such as salbutamol (albuterol), which are effective for 4h to 6h. LABAs such as formoterol are used as "symptom controllers" to supplement prophylactic corticosteroid therapy. A "reliever" short-acting β2 agoni...
