Bactrim Insomnia

I took Bactrim about two months ago and approximately 4 days after quitting the drug I developed severe muscle and joint pain. I stopped the pills 3 pills early because I developed a rash and had insomnia and was nauseated. I am still experiencing muscle and joint pain, but it has improved somewhat. Doctors are hesitant to blame the drug for these effects. Since it has been sinking I am wondering if anyone else has had these experiences and/or for this long. ## Hello, Sam! How are you? Can I take doxylamine if I am allergic to sulfa drugs? Had Stevens-Johnson Syndrome from Bactrim/Septrin ## Hello, Beth! How are you? I'm very sorry about your terrible experience. Yes, you should be able to take it, as long as your doctor approves. It is not a sulfa drug. Doxylamine is an antihistamine that's used to treat allergies and insomnia. My pa prescribed me the 6 day methylprednislone PAC 4 mg I've only took two of the first days dose. He prescribed it for a bad reaction to bactrim l. He also prescribed hydroxyzine pamoate 50 mg capsules. The methylprednislone makes me feel weird can I stop taking it. ## Hello, Misty! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having.
