My doctor refused to refill this Rx for diphen atropine for 6 weeks. I have been taking this med for about 6-7 years now. It is the ONLY med that lets me lead a normal life without explosive diarrhea. If I don't take it, and I have to have a bowel movement, I have about 2 minutes to find a restroom. I usually don't make it and that is a mess. No warning at all. He finally renewed my prescription but wants me to have an Upper GI. How long can you take diphen atropine? I need info on the actual dosage of atropine for treating excess saliva. ## Is there any significant side effect of atropine meant to prevent excess saliva secretion? ## I want to know if I can safely use Atropine Sulfate as a treatment for excessive saliva? Does it have sulfa in it? I am allergic to sulfa. Also, is it safe to use under the tongue? ## It can depend on the person and their tolerance of the medication and what the effective dosage is for them.
