Do atorvastatin calcium tablets cause breathlessness and heavy breathing if the tablet is taken after a meal, particularly when one is walking after having eaten and taken the tablet? If so, what does it mean? ## From my records I did not find anything stating that atorvastatin causes breathlessness or heavy breathing. The primary uses of Atorvastatin are for the treatment of dyslipidemia and the prevention of cardiovascular disease. It is recommended to be used only after other measures such as diet, exercise, and weight reduction have not improved cholesterol levels. Small,, yellow, round pill with a FDC on it. I ordered Lipitor and received these pills. I want to make sure they are the same as Lipitor. ## I want to know as well ## Zivast is a brand name from India for atorvastatin, which is commonly sold in the US under the brand name Lipitor. You should be aware, though, that there are two potential problems with ordering your medications from a foreign source: 1) If the drug has an equivlent in the US then obtaining it this way is illegal. 2) Since these companies do not manufacture their drugs under the regulations of the FDA, there is really now way to be certain what you are getting.
