Are Amlodipine Amlovasc the same as Amlodipine besylate? ## Yes, Amlovasc is just a brand name for Amlodipine, so Amlodipine is the generic and is usually cheaper to purchase. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I live in South Africa and do not know if this will be of any help. I use Amloc, 5mg. Amloc is amlodipine maleate, which does not cause any swelling. Previously I was on amlodipine besylate which caused me to swell up like I was trying to outdo an elephant. My neighbor experienced the same - besylate causes swelling, maleate does not. Both are amlodipine, only different components of it.

How are you? There are reasons that high blood pressure (hypertension) is called "The Silent Killer" and that's because people that have it often feel normal and have no symptoms, whatsoever…..until they suffer heart failure, a heart attack or a stroke. Bought in Belize City ## Bought the same thing in Belize. Sold as Adivan. Not sure what it really is. ## The closest match I'm finding with an actual imprint of Z 7, is a white round pill identified as Amlodipine besylate (2.5mg). Unfortunately when it comes to medications brought back from overseas, it's often a lot more difficult to locate a match using US drug resource pages, since they are less likely to contain any info on something from another country. All of my previous Amlodipine 5mg scripts were a small round blue tablet larger in the middle. It would always begin to dissolve almost imediately on my tounge. My current refill, same pharmacy, is a round white tablet, imprinted with either 866, or 998, or 859, on one side (Difficult to read) & U with a small mark (could be a 1 on the lower right of the U). Wondering if the pharmacy made a mistake or did indeed change suppliers.
