Does anyone know the color of the beads that are instant release in the Shire 30 mg. I am trying to find this out because the long acting beads stay active to long preventing sleep and the Shire Brand is the only decent Adderall. I believe the two colors are white and a orange lookin beige. It would be pain staking to separate them but worth getting the 15 mg IR out of the 30. ## It would actually be much easier and safer to ask your doctor to prescribe the regular release formulation. I have blue capsules that say adderall xr 30 mg on them but they have only white beads. Is this generic or brand? And how are these different from the orange 30 mg adderall xr with the white and orange beads? ## @Ricky, When you switch between different manufacturers, the only noticeable thing I'm aware of that actually changes are the inactive ingredients (binders/fillers), so that could be one reason why the beads are different colors - different dyes? As to whether or not it's a generic or brand that you have, my research shows that the orange 30mg pill marked with "Adderall XR" is indeed a brand name and not generic. Has anyone who takes name brand Adderall XR 30 mg - 2 x/day tried to take a drug holiday and if so, what are your side effects. I would like to try but I have a morphine pump at about 30 mg continuous release/day and think I might become comotose. I've been taking Adderall xr 15mg for three weeks. First couple of days I felt sleepy, groggy, third and fourth days i felt a surge of physical well-being, as well as focused , and a balanced state of mind. However, all that lasted another couple of days. After the first week of Adderall xr 15mg, i felt nothing. It's been three weeks now, and I still feel nothing. I live with a questionable character who I have caught red handed taking my meds from me. I am prescribed amphetamine salts 30 mg xr, generic for adderall. They are orange and clear capsules filled with orange beads. The time I caught him I found that he had taken the pill apart and ingested the beads, then put the pill back together so I wouldn't know...really sneaky. My insurance only pays for the brand Adderall pills and does not support the generic. The doctor started me off with 20mg of XR daily. After a couple weeks, those didn't seem to work as well so she upped my dose to 30mg XR. I was looking at the 20mg and comparing what they looked liked to the 30mg. The 20mg had on them M.Salts or something like that the name Adderall wasn't listed anywhere. Both pills are oblong and orange; the 30mg says AdderallXR 30mg right on the pill. I was taking Adderall XR Barr, I didn't like it! Then shire XR which was way better. I could focus, study, multi task, pay attention etc.....Then my psychiatrist switched me to instant release. I have been taking Adderall XR for about 7 years for narcolepsy. I have always taken 10 mg each morning; and recently my doctor increased my perscription to 5-15 mg per day, so that I was given 5 mg. capsules and had the option of taking an extra 5 mg each day. I find everyday I am tried by lunch and have a hard time staying awake, so I take that extra 5 mg. capsule around 1:00 in the afternoon. But sometimes by taking that extra 5 mg I get a really bad headache, and to be honest I still am tired. Would it be better to take the full 15 mg in the morning? I just have never taken that much at once and was afraid to try it. I was taking 2 Adderall XR 30 mg. (60 mg total) very morning for years. I called for a refill a few months back and when I picked up the script, it was for Adderall IR. I questioned why the XR wasn't prescribed and the know it all NP told me that Adderall XR was NEVER given in that dosage and I was the first to request it.
