I have tried to come off of it before but after day 5 i felt like i was in hell I could not stand anything touching me not even clothes i felt like I was on fire so i caved in and starting taking it again I could not stand the pain any longer. I have memory loss, live in a fog, gained alot of weight, sleep walk. I can't think clear there are times I have speech issues like I can't say what I'm trying to and have to stop slow down and try again. Pfizer will give you your Lyrica for free if your income is under $48k annually for a single person and $70k for 2 people. Pfizer is a great company! ## Hello, Dulcinea! How are you? Thank you for making such a helpful post! Pfizer really is a great company and they have been expanding their assistance services to try to help even more people. If anyone needs more information, they can call them at 866-706-2400. AstraZeneca also has a great program, I received a medication I needed free from them for several years, when I was uninsured. Anyone needing details on one of their medications can call them at 800-292-6363. Does anyone know of more programs? ## Pfizer is the only one I know of, but I really think an organization like AARP should be ashamed of themselves. They should know this ...

Hi my mom is on 75 mg of lyrica and she can not refill her script for a few days, ny mother in law gave me an old prescription which her late husband took. they are the same 75mg Lyrica but they are 6 years old! will it hurt my mother to take these? I know that some old medications can acually poison your system. Please let me know. ## Hello, Mandi! How are you? They will no longer be effective and should you should just dispose of them. Lyrica is not a narcotic or controlled substance, so she should be able to get a refill a few days early, without a problem. Side effects to this medication may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

My husband was diagnosed with diabetes 10/8/13. He probably has had it for 3 yr. He's is on 750 Metformin 2 a day, 600mg Gabapentin 3 aday. Still in much pain.He also weights 116, has lost 100lbs. in two years Just got prescribed Lyrica 50mg. 3 a day. Lyrica is very expensive. JUST WONDERING IF IT WILL HELP. Any comments welcome. ## Hello, Cheryl! How are you? Unfortunately, no one can tell you whether or not it will help him, the only way to know that is by his actually taking it to find out how it works for him. There should be a cheaper generic available, though. And it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, weight changes and mood swings. Is there anything else I can help with?

Does anyone have experience using Klonopin (clonazepam) to wean off of Lyrica? I know Neurontin (gabapentin) and Lyrica (pregabalin) are used to wean off of benzos. But I'm actually trying to wean off of 150mgs. Lyrica twice a day (300mgs. daily) using clonazepam. If anyone that has found using this method beneficial please let me know. And if anyone has done it successfully as well please share with me their technique. Thanks in advance. ## I'm nearly off of Lyrica now after 5 years of 300mg a day. I had one prescription for 10mg and another for 5mg. I started taking 10mg at bedtime and 5mg when I woke up, then 5mg more if needed before bed. It was living Hell the 1st month, I was sweating profusely. Now I'm down to 5mg in the morning and 5mg at night. Soon I'll just us...

I've been taking 75mg pregabalin for three months now. How do I come off them without getting any side effects ? ## I have been taking 75mg. of Lyrica three times a day for about three months, and I want to stop it. How do I safely stop it to avoid withdrawal systoms? I have had blistered skin, fever, chills, headache, mood changes, just about the worse side effects listed. The fever is into the fourth week, I cry easily, I am depressed, I can not eat as I have so much gas that if I make myself eat, I vomit. Yes, it fixed my cold feet I have suffered from with Diabetic neuropathy for years. But, my life has become miserable. ## Hello, Arnie and Kathy! How are you both? Can you take 5mg of ambien with Lyrica ## Hello, Jane! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but you should only take them if they have both been prescribed for you. The FDA lists the side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hallucinations, funny taste in mouth, sleep actions, next day hangover-like effects and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I am not a doctor so I don't know for sure . I am a 75 year old woman and I take 10 mg of ambien and 75 mg of Lyrica two times a day not to mention other medications and I am ok. My doctor gave me the medications but everyone is different.

I'm suffering from severe spinal cord injury 15 years ago been through a lot of pain regiments considering taking lyrica not sure what it's like her anything would just like to know what people think if they've got the same problem I do with her back thanks Steve ## Hello, Steve! How are you? I am very sorry about your injury! Lyrica is actually an anticonvulsant that can help with some types of never pain, due to the way it acts on the synapses in the brain. Thus, it doesn't work like a traditional analgesic, you will not get immediate relief, you have to take it for about 4 weeks, before you'll know whether or not it will work to help you. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, mood swings and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello! My first time here so I'll try to be as detailed as possible. I'm a 36 y/o Female who has been Type I diabetic for 20 some odd years. I have had diabetic nueropathy and general anxiety disorder for around 4 years now. I was on Lyrica for both around 75mg dosage for several years and then upped to 100mg. My husband lost his job and thus my insurance went away too. I was off of Lyrica from about September of 2011 until about March 1st of 2012. After a bad reaction to Gabapentin, I was put back on the Lyrica. I noticed that on the 75mg 2x a day and I did fairly well but it wasn't -quite- enough. I was bumped up to 100mg 2x a day a little over a week ago and I immediately noticed a vast change. I started getting terrible chest pains that only went away when I took an acid...

My doctor has me on 600 mg Neurontin a day, plus 150mg of Lyrica a day, plus 100mg of Savella a day... I am always fog brained, drunk feeling, tired, nauseated. I have been on this combination for atleast three years now. I am however just now finding out that, lyrica and Neurontin are the same medication, and that savella is just like lyrica. I'm confused on this, I need to know if I'm being overdosed??? ## Hello, Kyleigh! How are you? I would call it being overdosed, but it does sound like it is too much for you. Lyrica and Neurontin aren't the same medication, but they are in the same drug class, so taking both of them makes no sense. Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin. I started taking Lyrica 7 years ago for nerve pain due to adhesions following tummy tuck. Lyrica worked better for me than Gabapentin and was the answer to my prayers. Since then I have gained a lot of weight though I didn't link it with the Lyrica until starting to read around it now. I have arranged to have a gastric bypass in 2 weeks but now wonder whether, if I could get myself off the Lyrica, the weight disappear too. Another related question - the one I originally came onto the forum to ask - is about what will happen after the bypass when I think the Lyrica will not work any more because it won't get digested normally? Very confused now. Any advice welcomed. ## Hello, Robes! How are you? Yes, there is a chance that the weight gain is due to the Lyrica. These medications a...

I've been on Lyrica for 5 years, now at 100 mg/3 times a day. Overall, I would say this drug has been very helpful. It does work and the side effects have been minimal. However - I have begun to have headaches due to tight muscles in my upper body. In all the forums I have researched I haven't come across tight muscles as one of them - headaches, yes, tight muscles, no. Has anyone else experienced this? ## Hello, Maryb1953! How are you doing? Sorry about the problem that you're having. Actually, it has been known to cause myoclonus in about 4% of the people take it. It's an involuntary muscle jerk/spasm, so that could be what's causing your problem. Learn more Lyrica details here. Have you discussed it with your doctor? Has anyone gained weight using lyrica as a back pain killer ## Hello, Mike! How are you? Lyrica is actually not a pain killer. It contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, which is an anticonvulsant, it's been found to help with some types of nerve pain, due to the way it acts on brain chemicals and yes, weight gain is a normal side effect of these types of medications. Learn more Lyrica details here. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and mood swings.
