What is the difference between: Metanx Caps 2.5 - 20 - 1 MG Metanx Tablets 2 - 3- 35 MG ## Hi Sylvia, According to the manufacturer's webpage, each Metanx capsule contains 3mgs of Calcium + 35mgs of Vitamin B6 + 2mgs of Vitamin B12. The only difference I'm seeing with those numbers in your description, is that they can pertain to different dosages of these three ingredients. I hope this helps to clear things up!

What would 90 tablets of Metanx cost? ## Hi Mildred, I work with Metanx and am very pleased to read how well you are doing on Metanx and I have some good news for you, If you are interested on how to save on your Metanx prescription, contact Brand Direct Health at 1-866-331-6440. I am willing to try anything that might help with the feet & leg pain, my arms & hand pain I am having. Also in my joints. Feels like my nerves, tendons, muscles, are like a rubber band, and being twisted at both ends, until so tight they could pop at any time. The pain gets so bad when I am asleep it wakes me up screaming, running, kicking, then can't find anything then to take for the pain, to relieve just enough to allow me to go back to sleep. But, it wouldn't allow me any relief enough to get back to sleep. I would like to join the Research Team, to see if Metanx will help me. ## Hello, Polly! Sorry about the pain that you're in. the mentanx folks are a bunch of bastards charging too high of prices. ## Hi Wyatt, Lots of medications these days are quite expensive which is why I usually opt for natural homeopathic remedies and suggest that everyone does their best to eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables; which can be a lot more effective at healing than conventional medication. Nonetheless, when you're in a bind you can find discount cards for medication online. For Mentanx, just google "Mentanx discount coupon" and you should see a couple options pop up. Here's a link to the one that this site offers: RX Discount Card You can learn more about this drug on the page for Metanx Details I hope this helps!

I've been taking Metanx for 6 months due to diabetic nephropathy and foot drop in my left foot. After the first few months I thought there was minimal improvement in frequency and severity of the pain. But now, after 6 months, it seems like the pain is as frequent and severe as when I started. I just picked up a refill and found that the price (not covered by my insurance) has almost doubled in the past 6 months. So, for $75 a month and little or no improvement, I'm done with Metanx. Incidentally, if you research this product carefully you will find that even though it is only available by prescription, it is classified as a medical food and not reviewed or approved by the FDA for efficacy or safety. ## Hi Lewie, Metanx does have published studies that show it repairs damaged ne...

metanx generic ## Is there a generic Metanx. If so where can I buy it ## Metanx contains the active ingredients: L-methylfolate (Metafolin): 2.8 mg Pyridoxal 5'-phosphate: 25 mg Methylcobalamin: 2 mg These are all vitamin supplements, so there are others available, however, it can be difficult to locate this precise mix, with the right amounts. As to where you may find it in your area, that depends. Where are you located? Have you tried asking your pharmacist?

I quit taking the med. 3 days ago and can feel a great differance in the pain leavel. ## After doing some major research Shaklee B Complex is equivalent to Metanx! I currently take Metanx which is a perscription vitamin. Is Folbic a good replacement. Metanx is expensive and my drug plan does not pay for but will pay for Folbic ## Folbic is similar, since it contains a form of Folic Acid, Methylcobalamin and Pyridoxine, but the formulations for absorption are different. Learn more Folbic details here. Thus, I'd suggest checking with your doctor to see what your best alternative would be. Why are you taking it?

taken instead of foloc acid ## I went to my doctor complaining of pain in my left leg and hip. I was diagnoised with a compressed nerve in my spine. I'm am scheduled for an MRI in 4 days. In the meantime I've been perscribed METANX TABLET PAM for Neuropathy, and GABAPENTIN 300 MG CAPSULE APO for leg pain. My insurance company will not pay for the METANX. MY question is Is METANX just a bunch of vitimins and not considered a drug by the insurance companies? Also what is the chance of this product doing anymore for me than over the counter vitamins that I could probably better afford? ## It is best to speak with your doctor about it, there may be a specific reason they want you to take these ones. Prescription vitamins are often higher in nutrients than OTC ones. ## Thanks for rep...

I recently went & had a EMG & EEG. My Dr. said I had some nerve damage in my legs? My legs jump & twitch on their own? My Dr. said this matanx is a vitamin? Any feedback would be appreciated. ## Metanx contains the active ingredients: L-methylfolate (Metafolin): 2.8 mg Pyridoxal 5'-phosphate: 25 mg Methylcobalamin: 2 mg These B-Vitamins are often given to try to help treat or prevent nerve damage, however, the only way they will help is if that damage was caused by a deficiency in these nutrients. If it was due to an injury, then they will probably not do much. Read more: Are there any comments or questions?

I tried Metanx (cost me a $160.00 copay) and could not use it after 5 days. I did not sleep for 5 days even with a sleeping pill. Also had severe calf cramps in bed and also the pain I had was doubled. I don't know how this medicine was approved for diabetic neuropathy!!! Now I am out all this money and still have severe diabetic nueropathy. ## Hello, Trix! How are you? There really aren't any side effects, so to speak, from Metanx, it is just a supplement that contains nutrients that can help treat or prevent diabetic neuropathy, it's not an actual drug, at all. It's actually classified as a medical food. The insomnia makes some sense, because adding the nutrients to your body could cause you to be more energized than usual. However, the cramping and pain does not. Have...

With other vitamin supplements ## I can only advise you to discuss it with your doctor. Supplement products are not usually tested for side effects and interactions, as is done with actual prescription medications. So, it would basically come down to what the exact supplements in question contain, because getting too much of some nutrients, such as Potassium and Vitamin B12 can be just as dangerous as not having enough of them. Have you discussed it with your doctor?
