Hello, I am a long time user of oxycodone . Have been prescribed pain mess for around 8 years. I am 35 years old and lead a fairly active lifestyle . I've had many surgeries in which I suffer from serious constant pain. I've tried many ways of coping with the pain but the only thing that really works and enables me to function semi normally is oxycodone. Right now I'm using 30mg Oxys. Prescribed 180 a month, but always come up short as I need more than what's prescribed to my high tolerance . I've tried the extended release tablets in 80mg and they do not work at all, and I feel like they are way worse for my body . I've tried dissolving them in water and soda. And they turn to this glob of rubbery stuff and it seems like it would just build up in my body and not...

Small round pill 60mg ABG ## THIS IS NOT OXYCODONE! THIS IS MORPHINE CR This is Morphine Sulfate CR 60mgs, a generic for MS Contin. I didn't even have to look this one up, I have a whole bottle here and take them twice a day. Oxycodone does not come in a 60mg dosage. ## Oxycontin does make a 60mg, but you're right this is definitely the generic of MS Contin 60mg. ## You should get your facts straight as oxycodone does come in a 60 mg dose it is just very uncommon you see them. ## Morphine is in its own class...not generic for anything ## They very well do make a 60 mg. Oxycottin does and in generic form too. ## Is they don't come in a generic 60 mg tabs what do they put you on in stead I have been taking oxcycontin 60 mg but I am changing insurances and my insurance guy said...

what color do these pills look like? ## There is no 60mg of the instant release Oxycodone, it is only available in 5mgs. There is a time released tablet in 60mgs, called Oxycontin, which would have the marking OC or OP on one side and a 60 on the opposite side. The tablets should be red. This is a potent narcotic, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## there is oxycontin 30mg instant release but that is as high as instant release goes. ## oxycodone does not just come in 5mgs. They also come in 10s 15s, 20s, and 30s. I know cause I've had all of them within the last year. I suffer from chronic pancreatitis. Oxycodone does not come in 60mgs. I take 60mg of Morphine 3x daily + 10/325 mg Oxycodone/Acetaminophen daily. My cancer is getting worse. Any ideas? ## Hello, Chuck! How are you feeling? I'm very sorry that your cancer isn't improving. Many cancer patients end up requiring a very potent narcotic, such as Fentanyl. It's available in a patch that you wear on your skin and change every 48 to 72 hours, so that may be something to discuss with your doctor. It was actually specifically created to help cancer patients. The FDA classifies this as a This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does anyone else have any suggestions? ## I am so sorry you are suffering from cancer! My father went f...

I'm from Brisbane Qld, Aust. ## Margie, are you prescribed these opiates that you are taking because if so your b/f cannot take away your son. I have been taking these prescriptions for fourteen years four the bad discs in my lower back. I have gotten to the place that I have decided to not take them anymore becuase of the side affects.. Sleep disorders, a feeling of being hazy all the time and just not emitionally their for my family anymore and my energy level is always down while taking these medications. I must say they are probably a great thing if you are taking them for a short period of time awaiting surgery. But don't get put on them for long term care if you care anything about your quality of life with those around you and how you feel outside of the pain you are experiencing. I have been off these medications for elleven days now and still find myself not able to sleep. I have tried the tritration thing in the ...

I have been taking Oxycontin60mg but I am now in my coverage donut and can not afford my prescription. I had taken Oxycodone once before and it just didn't work as well. Was that phycological or is there a difference in the 2 medications. Run out of this months prescription in 3 days. Help. ## oxycontin = time released oxycodone. same drug. the time release will distribute the medication over a period of time, and without it the entire dose will be administered at once. ## Okay, I remove the incorrect information, because Pharma Guy is absolutely correct. They are the same medication, Oxycodone is the active ingredient in Oxycontin, the only operative factor is that it is in a controlled release formulation. So, whether or not the Oxycodone you get will work the same for you will al...

I have been taking 60mg ms contin extended release 3 times a day + 30mg oxycodone immediate release 4 times a day. Recently my doctor changed the oxycodone to morphine 30mg immediate release. He also added lyrica 75 mg and I also take baclofen 10mg & amitriptyline 50mg in which i take 2. I'm still in constant pain. I was shot 8 yrs ago and I still hardly feel relief. What will help me? ## Hello, Shy! How are you? Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so the dosages are not equivalent, which likely explains why you are in pain. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. As to the Lyrica, that may take 4 to 5 weeks, before it reaches ...

My medicine has been changed from oxycodone 30 mg with opana 60mg to the oxy 30 with morpine sul 30 mg er** I was wondering will it work as well? ## Oxymorphone / Opana is quite a bit stronger than morphine, so unless your taking alot more morphine pills I can't see how it can. But maybe you will have a good reaction to it. Good luck! ## I agree with Denzidrine, in that every medication can effect each person differently; so the only way to find out is to actually try it and see how it works for you in comparison to what you're used to taking. Keep in mind though that the inactive ingredients in each tablet also play a significant role in how you react to the medication. Hello! I was given 15mg 4x's day by dr if oxycodone. My insurance will no longer cover so I have tapered down to 15 mg every 24 hrs. I cut one pill 4 ways and take a piece which is 3.75 mg every 6 hrs depending on discomfort pain. I really need to taper down enough to stop taking without the horrible side effects of withdrawl. I went thru this in feb cold turkey off Percocet (4 years at 60mg day) and landed in the ER where they put me on Tramadol for 3 months then switched me to Oxycodone. I really want this stuff out of me so at this point what would be a safe taper and at what point should I stop taking all together? I did ask my dr and his response was keep taking less. Useless!!! Any honest safe advice would be appreciated. I have come down so far in doses and really want to jus...

Been on Methadone for many years via a pain clinic. I am 66. I take 50 mg. daily. and was stable and reasonably pain free until this year. I fell and broke 5 ribs on two different occasions and a slight fractured hip and torn muscles on a third fall. These falls happened while training protection dogs. For about 8-9 months I was taking about 60 mgs. of oxycodone on top of the methadone with no effect on pain - ouch!. Now, the pain is gone from the falls but I am in withdrawal and feel very sick - I think. I started to take an additional 10 mgs. methadone but it's not helping - it's been about 10 days since last dose of oxycodone. At the same time I came down with a stomach bug or was that withdrawal? Would you know how long it will take for my body to adjust to 60mgs methadone (n...

I have been taking 60mg oxycontin for several months now, but recently I've not been feeling well and I'm in severe pain. I found out that someone has replaced several of my medicines with other meds and I'm trying to figure out what they replaced them with. Can you help me? ## Hi christi, Sorry to hear about your meds getting stolen. I can only imagine how devastating that might be for someone who may be dependent on them. If you are able to post back with any more details about the pills that were used to replace your meds, that would enable me to narrow down my search quite a bit. Unfortunately without an imprint or description of the pills, I'm at a loss in determining how I can help you. Did you ever find out who took them or when this could've happened? ## Hi! ...

tapering down. I've been on 60mg for 2 weeks anyways I have 40mg left until my refill tomorrow. I feel like crap. What the best way to take the 40 I have left till tomorrow? All at once before bed or 1-2 through the day? Please help ## Hello, MikeyMike! How are you feeling? It would most likely be best to space them apart throughout the day, but you should follow whatever instructions your doctor provided. As reported by the FDA, even with a gradual taper, you may experience withdrawal effects, such as nausea, headache, diarrhea and rebound pain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been on 30mg oxycodone for 10years one month I filled my RX & they were a different brand, they were KVT Tech. The entire month I had no pain relief! I was in so much pain! The next month I got actavis the brand I've always taken & it was night & day! A complete difference I finally got pain relief! Now my Dr changed me to 20mg oxycodone and the pharmacy gave me kvtech and for months I've been in so much pain! I've been cut in half of my daily dosage. I was taking 120mg a day now 60mg a day! Because my pain management Dr says it's because of CDC Guidelines! The people with chronic pain are now the ones who suffer & are getting the treatment they need! ## Hello, Priscilla! How are you doing? Has there been any change? If your dosage has been lower...

I just moved here to the suburbs of Atlanta (Woodstock) from NJ and I am having a very difficult time finding a pain management doctor. I currently take 90mg of oxycodone and 60mg of methadone for chronic neck and back pain. Two of the doctors that were on my BC/BS provider website told me that they could not treat me and made me feel like I was on a high amount of pain medications. In NJ my pain management doctor had been prescribed that amount for years and I never got the impression it was a big deal. But here in Georgia it looks like I am going to have some problems. Can anyone out there recommend a good pain management doctor in the Woodstock Georgia area that is not afraid to treat a person that has legitimate pain management issues. I am starting to get the impression that I migh...

I have been on regular Oxycodone- one 20mg pill every 4-6 hrs a day for approx 6 mos I used to be prescribed 10 MG TWO PILLS every 4-6hrs prior to the switch by my doc. Now, my pain has greatly increased and NOW he has given me 30 mg 4x a day and another script for oxycontin 60mg 2x a day. NOW, I am really drowsy ALL DAY where I was not at all before after this recent change in script. I also DO NOT get the same pain relief. Seems weird----go up in strength and dosage yet now just very tired all the time and less pain effective too..WHY, WHY?. I have read somewhere that the brand of oxycodone I take (KVK) ESPECIALLY the former 20mg was almost worthless for pain, yet their 10 mg was very effective. When ever I would take 2 of the KVK 10mg in past, it INDEED WAS MORE EFFECTIVE than just O...

I am currently taking 60mg of morphine sulfate ER twice a day and 30 mg of oxycodone HCL four times a day. For some reason I came up short one morphine on the last day of my prescription, so I only have one I can take instead of two until I get my new script tomorrow morning. Instead of taking the last morphine this morning, I waited and took it around 4pm tonight. Will I have withdrawl symptoms from missing a dose of Morphine, but continuing to take the oxycodone 30mg? ## If you didn't have any during the interim, where you didn't take it until much later, then no, you should be fine. However, if you do, they'd be mild and may include rebound pain, diarrhea, dizziness and fever, as listed by the FDA. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the ...
