Also, what color are they? ## Well, first I'd like to explain that Roxicodone is not an immediate release formulation of Oxycodone, it is the regular release formulation. The only dosage available in the OxyIR is a 5mg capsule. Anything over 5mgs and in tablet form is either the regular release (Roxicodone), or the time released formulation, which is known as Oxycontin. That said, there is no 20mg Roxicodone tablet, the only 20mg available is a time released Oxycontin, which has the OP on one side, the number 20 on the other and is pink. How many Oxycodone IR 20mg brands are there? What are the colors & shapes, including generics? My friend gets these and changes pharmacies from time to time because of the quality. Her usual one says he gets ones w/ the lowest costs for consumers. is the oxycodone 20mg time released i beleave the 15mg/imprinted with the 15 on it is not thanks for the help/bob ## Hi Bob, Oxycodone HCl Controlled-Release Tablets are supplied in 10 mg, 20 mg, 40 mg, and 80 mg tablet strengths for oral administration. The 20 mg tablets also contain polysorbate 80 and red iron oxide. But I don't think that has any impact on the absorption rate. I hope this info helps! I was taking 2 white 5mg oxycodone IR tabs 2x/day but they were only partially useful in reducing my pain. My doctor reluctantly prescribed 2 pink 10 mg oxycodone IR (= 20mg) tabs every 12 hours. The number 048 is on these tabs. I have had them for three days now and I am taking them as prescribed, but they do not seem to work nearly as well as the former 5mg white tabs. Is this an issue that is simply in my head or is there a reason why taking 2 of the pink 10 mg tabs twice a day aren't working like I thought they would? Hello, I need some help as I just started pain management. I was taking 20mg oxycodone ir 3x a day and it wasn't working. My new Dr just put me on 2x a day morphine sulfate er. I currently take 20mg methadone twice a day with MSIR 30mg tabs 4 daily=120 total. I am trying to find which dose of oxycodone would be the equivalant of my current dose of Morphine IR. Its been VERY hard filling that script for approx 6 months now and is getting worse. So one option is switching to another medication. Some of the problem is that medicine isnt used as much as it once was. For approx the past six months I have had even more problems than usual filling my morphine ir 30 mg. twice there have been drug shortages. I need to change to an equivilant medication like roxicodone,or something similar. What dose of oxycodone is equal to 4 X msir 30mg per day??? I take a toal of 120 a month, in additon to taking a low dose of methadone as well. I take 1 30 mg er ms contin every 12 hrs (60 month) & 1 - 20 mg ir Oxycodone every 4.5-5 hrs per day (160 per month). I have spent so much time trying to get my Opana 20mg er and 10 mg ir filled. I had to start sending my scripts to Optum Rx by mail to have them filled. Honestly I've never seen anything like it. I didn't even have this much trouble getting Oxycotin and Oxycodone filled. My insurance co didn't want to pay for my oxycodone anymore so they suggested I change to Opana. My dad had a surgery done on his shoulder and they prescribed her Opana IR 20mg. He had late stage COPD and he wasn't taking any narcotic pain medication prior the surgery. I take Opana myself and it a powerful medication. I know these type of medicines can affect your breathing at high doses. I know Opana is two times stronger the oxycodone. So it is like taking 40 mg of oxycodone. I don't know why they didn't give him like hydrocodone or oxycodone instead at a lower dose. It would been different if he was taking these class of medication where he would been use to them in his system. In northern Ohio and I am prescribed oxycodone IR 20mg tablets. Cant seem to find pharmacy near me (lorain county, about 20mins from Cleveland,Ohio) that carries this Med. ## This is actually a problem that's been going on all over the U.S. recently, for all opiate/narcotic medications. I am not sure why, since there's been no official word on shortages or production problems, but there have been posts from people on each coast and everywhere in between. The only suggestion I can make, which has worked for a few other people, is to contact their insurance company and see if they have a preferred mail order pharmacy that you can use. Does anyone else have any ideas?
