I see a new doctor and would like to know if anyone knows how many oxycodone they are allowed to give before it's red flagged? ## Well, this is a little late, but thought i'd answer anyway in case anyone else looks it up....and I don't know if it varies by state, but in PA, I saw the 'report' the pharmacist has to submit(i THINK it was only for controlled substances), and it read like a damn government spy report, it was so pathetic... I guess the pharmacist gave it to me by accident. Anyway, one of the check boxes was 'More than 180 units?' So i guess it's 180 pills, then they had to special report it(to whom, i don't know.). I wish i had kept that paper, as I'm sure very few people have ever seen one,but this was over a year ago(from march 2017)...

How Long Does It Take To Kick in? ## Hi Crps sucks, it shouldn't take any longer than 15-30 minutes. Unless u have a tolerance 2 them. Then it could take a little longer. Have u taken them b 4? Or on a regular basis? ## From what I've read online, 15 to 30 minutes is a good rough estimate... Although timing can also vary some depending on your own body, as well as if you've recently eaten something. I'd also like to add that the maximum/peak concentration of oxycontin is generally found in the bloodstream at about one hour after ingestion. Keeping in mind that this is a time-released formula, it probably won't have much of an immediate effect like the standard oxycodone would, if you're used to having those. I hope this helps! Has anyone had experience using this drug to slow or treat chronic diarrhea? I have short bowel syndrome and had 2 resections leaving me with the diarrhea. We are now trying different treatments. ## It does cause constipation, in some cases very severely, as a side effect, so it has been used for this and has worked for some people. These dont seem to work can you take every 8hrs instead of 12hrs ## Hi Mike, It sounds to me like the dosage may not be strong enough for you; but to answer your question, the usual adult dose for pain is 5 to 30 mg every 3 to 4 hours as needed (when taking it Orally, Sublingual, or Buccal). The dosing indications for MS Contin (Morphine Oral) also state that "extended-release" tablet dosages range from 10 mg to 600 mg daily, given in equally divided doses every 8 to 12 hours or given as one dose every 24 hours. So depending on whether or not your tablets are extended-release, you should have some flexibility with the hours.
