Parkinson's and Oxybutynin
Post a Reply
My husband was prescribed Oxybutynin over two weeks ago, after a week the dose was increased to two tablets a day. He has Parkinson's disease and takes Sinemet and Ropineral. Over the past few days, his Parkinson's which was controlled has now spiraled to the point where his mobility and tremors are badly affected. Could this be connected to the Oxybutynin? This condition worsens as the day progresses.

Oxybutynin 15mg Extended Release
4 Replies RSS
Due to my spinal cord injury and paraplegia I use digital stimulation for my bowel program and therefor have the opportunity to feel some of the fecal matter as it comes through my colon. On at least 4 occasions I have found the Oxybutynin 15mg Extended Release tablets entirely intact. As an experiment I placed a tablet in a glass of water for 24 hours and after that time found the tablet intact except for the light coating that dissolved. The remains of the tablet had an almost rubber like coating. The tablet could be cut with a knife and the interior contained a white powder. It seems like the tablets are not dissolving. I have had to increase my dose to two tablets a day instead of one. In the past I was taking 5mg of Oxybutynin 3Xday. What is the mechanism for dissolving the tablets...

My aunt is having problems with her eyesight and found out that oxybutin can cause vision problems. She's been off of oxybutin for 2 weeks and her eyesight isn't any better. She says there's a shadow where here vision is blocked. Has anyone experienced this? If so, did it clear up or was it something different? Wondering if it's time to see a specialist. Thanks!! ## Hello, Gina! How are you? Generally, the Oxybutynin tends to cause blurry vision and dizziness due to the way it affects the vision, as listed by the FDA and from my own personal experience trying it years ago. Other side effects may include headache, dry mouth and urinary retention. Thus, it would be best for her to have this checked out by a specialist to be sure. When I stopped taking it, my vision issues ...

White oxybutinin not working for me
3 Replies RSS
My pharmacy changed from dispensing me blue oxybutinin that has worked well for me for years, to white oxybutinin. The blue ones dissolved immediately in my Foley irrigation solution but not the white ones. I'm having a lot of leakage now from bladder spasms and it's only since I have been taking the white pills. Anyone out there had this experience? ## What are the markings on the tablets you've received that aren't working for you? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, urinary retention and blurred vision. ## This is crazy while the blue does NOTHING for my issues & I have been trying to get the white ones 15mg, round white pills with M on them I cant get anything unless I want to pay cash for them when I have goo...

I am taking oxybutynin 10mg at night. I still get up to go two or three times, and sometimes I don't quite make it without significant leakage. What's going on? ## How long have you been taking it? This medication may take 4 to 5 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy in your body, according to FDA reports. How much leakage are you experiencing? You may need to try a different medication.
