I have been taking 10mg twice daily for 25 years. My new G.P. has now raised it to 30 mg.once daily after only two high b.p readings. I started with 30 yesterday morning and have felt unwell all day. Also awful headache that I cannot get rid of. I am concerned how long is this going to continue as I have several other health problems. Thanking you. ## Hello, Jane! How are you? All medications carry the risk of causing side effects and it would be normal to experience them again, when the dosage is raised. The FDA lists the ones you've mentioned as being typical for this medication, which contains Nifedipine. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, increased urination and hypotension. It may take 4 to 5 weeks, for the side effects to taper off and go away. If they do not, then you...

can neurobion help with chilblains
1 Reply RSS
i went to the clinic and was given neurobion and vitamin b6 for chilblains do they help with chilblains? ## Hello, Nachizo! How are you? No, neither of these have been known to help. The generally advisory for treatment is to keep the affect areas warm, avoid any extreme temperature changes, keep them dry, use a topical steroid cream to relieve itching, vitamin D and calcium supplements have been said to help some people. As to medications, a vasodilator, such as Nifedipine or Diltiazem can help. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, increased urination and hypotension. Were you seen by a doctor, or just a nurse?

could it cause aching hips and legs ## Hello, Bertygerm! How are you? This is listed as containing the active ingredient Nifedipine, which the FDA classifies as a calcium channel blocker that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. And yes, it can cause that as a side effect, in some people that take it, along with nausea, dizziness, headache and weight gain. However, side effects will typically improve in about 4 to 6 weeks, once your body gets used to the medication. If they don't, or if they worsen, you should consult your doctor as you may need to switch to a different medication. Are there any other questions or concerns?

Have been taking NIFEDIPINE ER 60 MG for years and my pharmacy is now supplying a pill NIFEDIPINE ER 60 MG which is a mustard yellowpill round much smaller and with markings of B on one side and 60 on other. Are these tablets identical as have been able to find any info and could be coincidence but my breathing has become much worse ## Hello, Eugene! How are you? Yes, that is the correct medication, this tablet also contains 60mgs of Nifedipine in a time released formulation. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, stomach pain and headache. When was the last time your blood pressure was checked? If you're having trouble breathing, you need to have it checked out, because that may be a sign of congestive heart failure.
