It is commonly used in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease. Unlike cimetidine, the first H2 antagonist, famotidine has no effect on the cytochrome P450 enzyme system, and does not appear to interact with other drugs.[2] It was discovered in 1979.[3] Contents 1 Medical uses 1.1 Preparations 2 Side effects 3 Histo...

I really need your help finding out what is this pill used for? Please post back with any information. ## A round, yellow tablet with an M over F1 is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 20mgs of Famotidine, which is a generic for Pepcid, this is an antacid. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, and flatulence. Is there anything else I can help with?

Famotidine / Side Effect

Does this pill help anyone produce a bowel movement? I swear I have to go within 30 minutes of every time I take this pill. Feedback please! ## Yes, it can cause that as a side effect in some people that take it, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, stomach pain, and flatulence. Are you on any other medications? How often do you take it? Do you get diarrhea, or just a regular bowel movement? ## I take 20mg every morning, along with aspirin, blood pressure medication & a beta blocker. At first i got diarrhea from it then my body got use to it. Now it works like a dream. On some days if I have a morning workout I do not take Famotidine. I was prescribed it after an Aortic Dissection surgery and I wish I knew about it decades ago. I've just learned that I can b...

Trying to figure out what kinda of pill this is found it in my sons ## I really need to find out what kinda pill my son is taking ## Is there any chance that the marking on the pill was read upside down? I'm only asking because the imprint "L194" comes up as a small white round pill by the name of Famotidine 20 mg; a medication used to treat stomach ulcers / acidity. For verification, the size of this pill is reportedly 8.00 mm and manufactured by Major Pharmaceuticals with a National Drug Code of 00904-5780. NOTE: You can click on the NDC link for an actual image of the pill. Unfortunately I haven't come across any other specific details on the alternative imprint "4617", but if anything I hope this at least helps to narrow down the possibilities of further sear...

Pink Oval Pill With Line Down The Middle
3 Replies RSS
I have a pinkish colored decent sized pink pill. There are no markings on it just a line down the middle on one side. I also I have the same pills in white. Plain white and oval with just a line down the middle on one side. Anyone know what these are? ## I'm sorry, but without any markings, it is going to be difficult to determine exactly what these tablets contain. We can rule them out as being a U.S. manufactured prescription product, because they are all required by law to have an imprint to enable their identification. However, it they could be over the counter products and there is a small chance that they could be foreign medications. Where were they found/obtained? ## It is Famotidine, or pepcid. ## I have the same type of pills and two different colors of pink and one whitis...

famotidine side effects

I have been on famotidine for about 6 weeks and the one side effect ringing in the ears are horrible. The ringing is so loud, I'm thinking of not taking it anymore. ## Hello, Kathy! How are you doing? Has there been any change? The FDA does list that as a possible side effect of this medication, along with nausea, flatulence, and dizziness. Have you informed your medical provider? There are other antacids that you can try to see if they may work better for you.

I found some pills in my cabinet that are small, white, round with 4617 on one side. The other side was blank. What could these be? ## I'm betting that if you flip the pill around, you'll see that the marking is actually L194. Can you check on that please? If so, this is a 20mg Famotidine tablet, which is a generic or store brand of Pepcid that's used to treat or prevent heartburn, GERD, ulcers and gastritis. Learn more Famotidine details here. Is this something you've ever purchased? ## All the small white pill has on one side is 4617 . I need to know what kinda pill this is ## Thanks. That's what it is L194. I appreciate it.
