Azithromycin and Norco combination safety
1 Reply RSS
I'm on Azithromycin and need to take Norco 10/325 (only half pill) - Is this dangerous? I read something about the combination prolonging QT interval. ## I didn't find any interactions, or contraindications listed in the NIH databases, but it is always best to double check to be safe. The FDA does warn that Norco carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Have they both been prescribed for you?

I take 7 pills of Azithromycin 500mg per month. I have COPD and the Azithromycin stops the infection of my lungs. I have a new mail order RX - I ordered Azithromycin and they sent a pill named PLIVA 788. Is this the same med? Thanks for any help. ## Yes, the manufacturer Pliva does list this tablet as containing 500mgs of Azithromycin. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have 6 pills in sealed container. I believe it's for 5 days. What is the recommended dosage? ## I want to know the dosage of AZITROMICINA. I have 6 capsules of 500 mgs. Please reply asap. thank you, kindly. ## Azithromycin is an antibiotic used to treat various types of infections. Before using it, you should see a doctor to confirm that you have an infection. If you use it and you do not, you run the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. The normal dosage is 2 tablets on the first day, then one tablet on days 2 to 5. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea. You can read more on the medication here: Have you consulted a doctor, yet? ## Can you take azitromicina 500 mg if your on warafin? ## THERE ARE THREE 500 MG. TABLETS IN THE PACK...

zithromax = azithromycin (equivalent??)
2 Replies RSS
Zithromax (Brand) and Azithromycin (Generic Equivalent). Are they both, exact in all Ingredients, or, do they add other Ingredients in the Generic > Azithromycin ?? ## They do not have the same molecular structure on the active ingredient - Brand is a dihydrate and generic is a monohydrate - also have different inert ingredients as well - generic is made outside of US where there is little inspections related to quality control - on contaminates and greater than allowed by the FDA on residual solvents. I have take brand name about 5 times last 12 years and worked great - I took the generic and had really bad reactions - I feel as if I put poison in my system. ## Can i take this medicine together with Paracetamol tablet?

azithromycin formula differences between lupin and pliva tablets
1 Reply RSS
Is there a difference in the azithromycin formula between Lupin and Pliva tablets? I had to take 3 more tablets and the azithromycin was from 2 different companies; the first 7 days on Lupin, then 3 days more from Pliva which gave me stomach issues. ## No, the additional side effects are just most likely due to the additional time of taking it. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. How are you feeling, now? What stomach issues did it cause?

azithromycin 250 mg for poison ivy
1 Reply RSS
I have had a reaction to poison ivy going on 3 weeks now. My face has been swelling and I really can't stop itching. I have had a cortisone shot, took prednisone, then they gave me a methylprednisolone dose pack.. I wonder if I need azithromycin? ## That is an antibiotic, so it is not going to do anything to help with an allergic reaction, it will only help treat, or prevent infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Have you tried consulting a dermatologist? That really sounds like a severe allergic reaction.

I got a prescription from Mexico with 6 capsules in it, sealed, but it says 500 mg on it. How am I supposed to administer these? Taking 1000 mg the first day? and the rest one at a time a day after that? ## Yes, it contains the active ingredient Azithromycin and the package you mentioned is used just like a Z-Pak, 2 the first day, then one each day after, until you finish them. This antibiotic may cause side effects, such as nausea, drowsiness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more Azithromycin details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have the same bottle, is this safe for a 9 year old to take and is it the same dosage? ## I use azithromycin for my facial acne. My boyfriend gave me this pink oval pill; he told me to take it to cleanse toxins inside my body. What kind of illness does this pill treat? ## This tablet is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 500mgs of Azithromycin, which is an antibiotic that is used to treat or prevent bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. It will not cleanse toxins from your body, your liver and kidneys do that naturally. It also should not be taken, unless your doctor has prescribed it for you. Are you on any other medications?
