Will Oxycodone Show Up The Same As Hydrocodone In A Drug Test (Page 2)

I was prescribed hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325 TB for back pain. I ran out so I took a oxycodone 10mg for the pain. Today is the 11th of April and I have to go in and see my Dr. on the 14th of April. If he tests my urine what will the outcome be? Will it just show for opiates or will a Dr.'s office urine test be more of a specific test? I have a feeling he's going to test my system because after all he did prescribe me the hydrocodone.

I think a lot of the test results may depend on amount of time a person has used a medication. I know for a fact that I have only been taking my hydrocodone (which I have for over three years) and was given a 2 drug test within the past 2 months and the first (whish was a more advanced test) barely showed the pass red line for oxy but showed positive for opiates. Second test (which I think was a shotty test; didn't even have opiates on it) showed positive for oxy. And I am completely honest in me ONLY taking just hydrocodone. Could be how my body metabolizes the medication. Idk but yeah its a nerve racking situation.

I go to a pain clinic and I am prescribed oxycodone and when they showed me the results of my test and showed up with a very low level of hydrocodone and the doctor said that sometimes happens when you take an oxycodone because they are a to a certain degree a derivative of each other just With different metabolizers( I am assuming this was the layman's answer) and I'm not sure if it works the opposite if your prescribed hydrocodone if oxycodone will show up or not

this is very true, I am prescribed ocycontin and norco, when I took a urine test it showed the oxy but very low on the norco, because i dont take it as often.

That sucks. Im kinda in same sitution. Im going for surgery on the 8th and blood and urine on friday. My doctor prescibes me oxycidine when i dont have anymore go to the street. Im wondering if its gonnashow in my urine as well. They say 24 hours. I dont know about that.

They show up as two different drugs they will not show on a drug test as being the same drug. I have a friend that recently got busted at her pain clinic.

I took 60 mg's of hydrocodone and I am only prescribed oxycodone I wasn't thinking because I had left my script at home, I was urine tested at my pain doctor and I am wondering if it will show up

It will stay in your system for 3-4 days. So not taking it for 1 or 2 days, probably will not help...you will still test positive more than likely.

They will show up the same if it's just a quick dip but if they send it to the lab it will show up different but you shouldn't have a problem

I took a test this morning and took an oxycodone yesterday. My tests are run through a computer thing.. Will oxycodone show up different than hydrocodone? Should I go ahead and tell my po or wait till I go back?

It all depends on how they test. I know when I see my dr, she throws a urine test my way at times just because of the new laws and it's a simple urine test that just checked to see if I have any illegal drugs in my system and also show my Oxy's I do have in my system. I don't believe it would show up any different if you've had both in your system unless they send the labs off for more detailed results. Sadly, I can't post a pic of my test/lab results, but I did go and copy it so I could paste it here and show what my dr screens for during a simple routine urine test. I hope this helps! If they are only looking for opiates then it will pass. They are both synthetic opiates. Also those pills are out of your system after the most 72 hours. If they blood test you that's another story.
