Valparin Taper

Dear Doctor, My child is now 15 years old she is using Valparine 250 mg twice a day with a gap of 4 years inbetween Now we want to discontinue drug since she is okay since 2 to 3 years. Dr is asking to continue for another 2 years. Kindly suggest how to tapper the dose.
