According to the NIH Tribexfort contains the active ingredient Trimebutine which is used to help regulate the movements of the intestinal tract to treat the symptoms of conditions such as irritable bowl syndrome. Something to note is this medication is no longer available in the United States.

A list of possible side effects include
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Dry mouth
- Foul taste
- Headache
- Fatigue.
