Tab Gestin

i am in 32weeks of pregnancy and the latest USG shows moderate polyhydraminous( increase in amniotic fluid) .my doctor has precribed TAB GESTIN twice daily..my question is should i take the tab? i read sumwhere tat the tab increses more of amniotic fluid.pls reply asap.

Gestin contains a Progesterone hormone and it is vital to maintaining a healthy pregnancy, many problems can arise if a woman isn't producing enough of it, while she is pregnant.

And it isn't the amniotic fluid that it increases, as a side effect, it may cause you to develop fluid retention in areas of your body, such as your ankles, feet and hands.

Hi Doc, My wife is 31 weeks pregnant. Her scan revealed baby is facing head down in the womb, the doc has mentioned uterus opening of 30. the doctor told us there is a chance of premature birth and to stop this she has prescribed isoxsuprine hydrochloride Tidlin-20 tablets to prevent contractions. A second gynec has prescribed inj Dexona and prescribed gestin. however the first doctor has condemned use of Gestin and inj dexona. We are confused which one to follow for the baby's growth so that we can prolong birth and help baby's growth
