Refilling My Valid Xanax Prescription Early (Page 5)

I only see one doctor and he gives me a 3 month supply of xanax. When I went the last time he wrote me out a prescription but I still had two refills. I had a friend and her husband passed away and I gave her some of mine thinking I would have no problem re-filling the prescription. I had sense enough not to go to the same pharmacy and not to give my insurance information. So I go to this small drug store by my house and I had to fill out paperwork such as dob, name and my DL #. Well they paged me to the front of the store and advised me that it was 7 days to early for them to re-fill. So my question is where can I go to re-fill a prescription that is valid written by the same doctor. I only tried one place, I'm guessing they must have a data base if you try and refill your prescription early (even without your insurance) does anyone have advice on where I can go to get this filled?

You live Pill by Pill and the doctor if you call him will authorize another pill? That is weird? I would ask the Doctor to double or increase my dosage if possible? After all this is Xanax we are talking about and can make you sick if you stop!

The only way to get your xanax filled early is go to the police station & tell them your meds were stolen show the pharmacy the report & they will fill it trust me I've done it before.

That's what happened to me today. I use 2 pharmacies. One for my covered Medicaid prescriptions & one that I pay cash for since I was told 2 weren't covered, I was told a few years back that my insurance didn't cover my psych meds (Xanax 2mg 3x day, which I have weaned myself down to only 2mg a day & Ambien 10mg at bedtime). My cousin took my meds to the VERY SAME pharmacy that's been taking my money for years today & they're telling me that they ARE covered by my insurance & since they didn't accept MA, they refused to fill it and complained that I was using another pharmacy to fill my other medications, which I explained the situation to the pharmacist why I was doing so & she was very nasty. I do not abuse my medications, I never fill them early either (well, more than 3 days early because I'm limited in transportation). I suffer from a broken femur & have had depression/anxiety issues since I was a teenager. That's fine, I have no problem taking them all to one pharmacy, but WHY were they taking my money for years when obviously they should have told me before I spent money on these medications?? And I've been thru benzo withdrawal & it's horrible, I even had a grand mal seizure back in 2005 when I moved to another state. Very scary, hence the reason for getting myself off of Xanax.

Effective Jan 1, 2014, all state medicaid programs have to cover benzodiazepines.

Just wanna tell you DO NOT TRY TO FILL THAT SCRIPT!! I'm on felony prob. for JUST TRYING to fill my Xanax early at another pharmacy an didn't give my info I figured they wouldn't be able to tell... I'm on prob. now 1 year of my 5 year sentence first time offender once I tried they have a way to pull up everything you have filled when an where an how you paid they called the dr told the dr I was trying to fill early the dr in turn called the dea I was picked up an arrested a week later on 6 felonies the dr was in one parish I tried to fill it early in another parish so I had 3 felonies in each parish from insurance fraud an obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud all because I tried to fill it I didn't even get the script back they kept it and called the dr I had no idea that I would get in trouble with my own script!!

My advice is to get off period .My doctor switched me to Klonopin Im down to less then 1 mg a day and getting ready to jump. I only have trace elements left in me so doesnt even come up on UA's. I was on for over ten years when my mom & brother died he increased it when my other brother died he increased it again so i was taking 120 bars a month & i got down to 1 mg in 6 weeks 1/4 mg per week. Then o switched to Klonopin I started at 3 mgs for 1 day then 2 mg's for about 2 weeks or more then I started the 1/4mg taper . With the half life being 36 hours i did have to go thru some sleepless flu like nights but nothing horrible. I dont know what to expect when i completely jump But my therapists say it shouldn't be so bad mostly physcological

I've been on Xanax for probably about 12 years or so now. I'm prescribed 120 bars a month (so one 2mg pill 4 times a day) and that is the most my doctor will prescribe. I made the mistake of once it wasn't working as well just buying more from other places or people and got up to taking almost 12(some days much more) bars a day and even one less and I'd start feeling withdrawal. Over the last year and a half I have been trying to cut down with my goal for now being to just get back to what I'm prescribed. I'm down by 4 whole pills to 8 a day but it's still double what I should be taking. I know I'll be able to meet my goal in another year or so but I wish I was never given a benzo from the start. I've tried taking klonopin to help cut down and it does give me a longer time in between before needing my next Xanax but I couldn't imaging replacing them. You did great getting off of these things though and wish I could do the same.

I had to take a crumb 24 hours in So Im not at of the woods yet Dr told me to taper 1/4 mg a week I tried a full 1 mg Half life caught up to me

there is nothing you can do the FDA has all pharmacy's hooked up and no matter where you go they will find out its over you have no choice even if you went to another little town they would have it on computer

To #90, Carla, how early were you? I have tons of extra Xanax and your post is frightening. I only did that a time or two knowing it was wrong. I now have a bunch, even told the doctor no today as its early and I never want to experience what you went through or did.

I went yesterday and was abel to get my subutex filled 3days early! It all goes through insurance if u have it so when people say it all depends on pharmacist is wrong.it depends on insurance.it depends on pharmacist weather or bot they will allow u to pay cash and get it filled or not.it was a cvs pharmacy.

Don't fool yourself? With a controlled medicine it is NOT the Insurance company that allows you to get your controlled meds early if this indeed happens, purely the pharmacy that is helping you. My Insurance company lets me get refills at the 75% point. Controlled meds would never be included! Violates Federal Law

I know ive got zanex early not sure about Subs i forget they are class 2 vrs class 4 I think
And it was before 3 days almost a week I do have one pharmacist who will only do it 3 days short the others seem to get it done. I wont even ask if she is there, its a Mop & pop store but a very busy one I think it is the Insurance co unless they changed the law recently. Thankfully i dont need to worry about that anymore

I was told by my pharmacy that I was five days early, even tho my Dr. Called it in. The same pharmacy filled it early (5 days each time) before suddenly refusing yesterday. I called my doc, was honest in telling him I had gone over daily instructed amount and he upped my script from 2.5 (1 mg)/day to 3. Definitely be honest. If you're not abd get caught in the lie, you're screwed fever. You'll be the boy who cried xanax.

7 days early now I'm seeing a new dr that wants me to take 2 mg of klonopin 3 times a day I hate klonopin I want the Xanax back but no one will write me Xanax

I won't even attempt anymore Thank God I dont have to I have a few extra at EOM as far as Karla goes when i went to detox that is exactly what they did to me off zanex immediately and klonopin. Its better because it sty in your system longer. I think its stronger so you need less. It willstill prevent you from WD's Im still having a very tough time getting under 1mg however Good luck
