The medicine Nitrofurantoin is used as an antibiotic, mostly for UTIs (Urinary Tract Infections).

I'm taking this medicine for a UTI. I remember taking it before - - messed with my stomach and now I'm having mild chest pains.

Please speak to your doctor immediately. Chest pains are not something to ignore and brush off as just a drug side effect.

Tanya, nausea and vomiting are normal side effects of this medication. If you don't feel an improvement in your condition then I would let your doctor know because maybe this medication is not working well for you? More details about this drug are available on the page for Nitrofurantion Details.
