Find A Doctor That Prescribes Methadone In Il

Please HELP in Chicago!!
My moms Doc has retired and she needs a Doc that prescribes Methadone. Shes having trouble finding one even though shes been on it for well over 10yrs and has legit pain issues. She lives near Chicago IL. Thanks!!

Hi! Has your mother found a doctor, yet?

If not, how is she checking to see if they will prescribe it? Is she asking when she calls for an appointment?

If so, most doctors are going to see that as drug seeking behavior and will just that they don't prescribe such medications.

What she needs to do is set up an appointment with a new doctor and make sure that they get a complete copy of her current medical records. Once they can see her treatment regimen and what has and hasn't worked for her as documented by a fellow physician, they will be more prone to prescribe accordingly.

She's been to 6 dif Docs with little luck. For now she is having to go once a week to get her script but he wants her off the Hydrocodone BUT will give her Roxys with her Meth ?? She doesn't want to change anything cause the Norco/Meth combo is what works for her. Any ideas?

Please read from my first post. She can't go to Methadone clinic since she is on it for pain NOT maintenance. She still has not found a permanent Doc. She has found one that is helping her til she finds someone else but his patience is wearing thin. Her Doc that was prescribing her Meth retired with & gave no refferals to my mom. She has been on it for over 10yrs. HELP PLEASE!
