Diazepam Tablets - Fake Or Real

Updated

Diazepam, originally synthesized by Hoffman la Roche under Leo Sternbach was an improvement on the earlier Librium which was in turn synthesized to replace barbituates as a safer alternative. It became the (or one of) the highest prescribed drugs in the US and other countries. It's popularity has led to many manufacturers and counterfeit producers for there is a good market, as it deals with anxiety so effectively for nearly all. There are several different processes to produce diazepam, only Roche has the right to use the patent name Valium and yes, ones that are produced from different processes can taste slightly different and have slightly differing effects for different people. Some countries have lower standards of production and it will depend on your own country's evaluation procedures to allow them to be prescribed in that country. Normally in the West for this to happen they have to meet a certain standard. The large market has led to many different counterfeit tablets usually hard to tell from the real thing, sometimes the packets are different or have mistakes, sometimes the very tablet itself tastes different (some having no diazepam in them whatsoever coming from trial production runs that instead of being destroyed were diverted for someone to make a quick profit. Other unlicensed ones can first of all be ok, but this is not often the case, it can be due to poor production methods, using different precursor chemicals and not getting the process right. They can contain diazepam but the reactions having not been carried out properly leading to tablets that can be unsafe. Others can have other easier to produce medications in them, Olanzipine being one.... all these factors mean any diazepam not prescribed can go from anything such as being downright dangerous to having differing amounts of diazepam in them. Take MSJ's for example, they can have from 6 mg to 30 mg in each tablet. Major manufactures are often copied, Actavis.... WW.... Teva etc. So unless prescribed, it's a case of knowing the taste and effects.....

There is a controversy with diazepam among the medical profession due to the addictive nature, dependency and withdrawal from long term high use can be life threatening. They are gradually being replaced by Z drugs, and as it is unknown of a drugs ability to produce complications later on (benzodiazepines have been linked to cancer but studies are often complex and some studies can differ. So there you have the basic reasons for the differences and the reason counterfeiters are attracted to producing it. You may find a supplier of genuine diazepam just as likely as you can find suppliers of tablets ranging from having no diazepam to ones that contain other drugs (waking up in a police cell having no idea why they are there will strike a chord with many who abuse them) There is no doubt diazepam can and has improved the quality of people's lives, perhaps saved many from suicide, but when prescribed the doctor has to weigh the benefits against the drawbacks. Diazepam can usually be detected by just a very slight bitter taste, only very slight, but some fillers used can make a sweetish taste, but you need to have had taken prescribed diazepam to recognize this taste, ones that taste too bitter are not a good sign, diazepam should not be disgusting or unpleasant to taste at all... period. If you do choose alternative sources, please only take small doses working up until you are satisfied that it is the effect you desire. I see so many threads with people saying a certain type is good (usually produced properly, to that same certain type (counterfeit) being rated as terrible. Your own body itself can react to the different processes and affect others differently. It is not really possible to overdose on diazepam or benzodiazepines alone, it's usually other drugs such as opiates and opioids that produce a cocktail effect leading to overdose and death. I hope this helps people understand what they are obtaining and to make better choices. I could say you should only be using prescribed diazepam but due to the (sometimes unfair) controversy of the drug.... except perhaps the dependence part, some people will of course turn to other ways of obtaining them, and the thing is, in many cases the benefits for these people can outweigh the problem of addiction. But they are also abused, hence the controversy surrounding them, as in the case of diamorphine which is a highly valued drug used for pain, terminal cancer and also having an effect which stops people worrying of their problems (yes that's partly why it is used for terminal cancer) ...... but you do not hear any body going Heroin is a wonder drug, simply for the abuse potential.

Re: Craig (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

Also thank you Conversation Starter, "Fallen Angel 747" post dated 9 April 2017!

I was bilked in the years 2012 and 2013 from a UK supplier, on 1/2 dozen occasions or more, of, multiple boxes of "Actavis Diazepam" 28 tablets, per box, of 10 mg each tablet that popped out of the blister pack of 14 tabs per blister, were embossed with a C scoreline and a DC below score line back of light blue round pill was blank.

All of the pills I purchased in 2012 and early 2013 tested out, as, having no active diazepam in any of the pills. Taste? Relatively "tasteless" a chalky taste if any, would decompose immediately usually before I could swallow them by raising a glass of water to my mouth. That is at least 4 boxes x 28 pills x 10 mg of alleged Actavis Diazepam with inserts in English, stating, "Actavis, Barnstaple, EX32 BNS UK". I re-filled 5 more times, over a 18 month period, (112 pills per refill x 6 refills, was, 672 pills, I wasted my money on. I am a experienced Leo Sternbach (Born 1908 died 2008) user of Roche Valium since the early 1970's in the USA.

I have also been benzo dependent, and have gone a 9 yr stretch without any benzo and another, 12 year time period without any benzo's in my system I have had one Grand Mal Seizure from radical Roche Valium withdrawal within 48 to 72 hours of my last use of Roche Valium, ending up in ER, many years ago, after 7 yrs of using Roche Valium from 40 mg per day up to 80 mg per day. A experience one will never forget!

My point? Well, yes, I have a ax to grind, as I lost $$$ on what I thought was Brick & Mortar UK drug store quality TEVA Diazepam, and, I had no tolerance, had been off of V's for some time, and, I could take 5 x 10 mg of these Teva counterfeits, and, I felt nothing, no relief from anxiety, no feared "Benzo withdrawal" of course not, the pills, according to a GC/MS test, had no active benzo agents in these pills, only harmless fillers. "one of the batches was DC 266" I still have a few of these boxes from greater London UK. Mfg date 09/2011. Expiration date 09/2014. Even has Braille embossment on the purple and white box. Date of processing this particular Actavis blister pack box of 2 x 14 ten mg tabs was March 01, of the year 2012.

I had the same problem with my UK source with what I thought was genuine Roche Rivotril, 2 mg, orange white and blue box with bottle of 100 count alleged Roche white 2 mg clonazepam, with English inserts, inside box, mfg address, Welwyn Garden City, UK AL7 1TW. Dispensed to me on Dec 03, of the year 2011. Exp date 11/2015, Batch E0272B01 I also got Auden McKenzie mfg alleged from the UK in the year 2012 that were also extremely weak, and had no effect on me whatsoever. (more 2 mg of alleged Clonazepam).

I did not have the Clonazepam tested with a chemist neither the extremely weak Roche or the Auden McKenzie, due to cost containment, the price of this test is expensive! I will only add this source is no longer in business, and many
customer complaints began in the year 2012, from credit card fraud, to people in the UK to USA complaining about quality control issues.

Over the past, 5 yrs yes, I have had a few counterfeit diaz that tested out to have the chemical "Etizolam" in them, or Zopiclone in them, to that awful phenazepam in the alleged diazepam tablets. but they came from a different source. The latter benzo is usually only rx'd in Russia. Etiz usually in India, Italy and Japan, but, increasing show up in the UK samples of diazepam, more recently.

I had a long run of excellent Germany Diaz licensed by Roche, 2002 to 2009, but in the year 2010, received many very weak 10 mg Roche blisterpacked Valium mfg allegedly in Grenzach-Wylan, Germany on the Rhine River, These 2010
issued Roche blisterpaks also had braille on the box, and, inserts were in the German language only. I considered them weak but not 'bunk". I compared them to my last USA issued V-Cuts 5 mg Roche Valium issued by my dentist filled at a trusted pharmacy USA and in the year 2010 the 5 mg were as strong as the Germany 10 mg I became suspicious of in 2010, and even more so, comparing, USA issued Clonazepam, to the UK issued, Auden McKenzie to the Roche UK Clonazepam's. "Same thing, my USA Roche cut out Klonopin were twice as strong comparing a 1 mg USA Roche to a UK 2011 Roche product from a source again out of business now in the UK.

I am old school I thank god that the worst thing to happen was my loss of money and perhaps a blow to my ego, but I did not get sick on any counterfeit benzo's from the UK!
