Clonazepam Drug Test

I am prescribed and take .5 mg Clonazepam 3x day (morning, mid afternoon, and bedtime). I took a saliva test and the results said there was no Clonazepam in the sample. Now my doctor is going to drop me for not taking medicine as ordered. Is it possible or common that a saliva test would produce a false negative? What are my options. I do not want to go to a different doctor.

To Kalman: I have recently encountered the same problem. I began seeing a new doctor a few months ago. My doc prescribed me .5 mg twice daily of clonazepam and I take it every single day. However, when the doctor gave me a saliva test, the results were neg for clonazepam. Prior to that, I had never had a saliva test. That happened 3 months in a row. Then my doctor said he can't prescribe it anymore. I've taken it for years, long before I stepped in his office. I don't know what is happening with that false negative saliva test. I'm so angry and I requested a urine test because I've never failed a urine test for clonazepam in the past. My prescriber said its not necessary. That's that. I see that your post is almost a year old. Do you have any insight now? Thank you for your time.

Yes. Both myself and my doctor followed up with the testing facility. It turns out, Clonazepam is not detectable in saliva. He switched me to a urine test. No issues since.

I just went through the same thing..been on 1mg 2x daily..it didn't show in the saliva test..I don't know what to do. .he stopped writing the script
