Anemia, Iron And Flatulence
UpdatedI was diagnosed with anemia following a recent blood test. I was given ferrous sulphate tablets to increase my iron levels. When I started them, and for the first time, I got really bad flatulence and belching, which felt that it was started from below my stomach (it smelt and tasted like that!) As it was so antisocial, I stopped taking the tablets, and the problem went away. The only trouble is that, now, if I eat anything which is iron rich (like red meat), I get the same problem. Is there anything I can do to stop these embarrassing outbursts, other than not eating iron-rich foods?
