Will Side Effects Go Away?
(Newest replies first)

Updated

Hello. I started to take cymgen, my first 60mg dose was last night and I am feeling very weird. Shaky, sweaty, nausea, headaches, loss of appetite and my mind is very foggy. Will these side effects go away as my body adjusts to the medication? Also when is it best to take the medication, morning or evening? I took it last night and didn't get any sleep.

Hi nads,

Thank you so much for your reply. It makes me feel a lot better that from your experience the side effects do improve. Can I ask what dosage you are on at the moment. I have halved mine to 30mg just to allow my body to adjust and will up to 60mg soon. Also I have been reading everyones comments about weight gain, and this really worries me as I don't want to be fat AND depressed. Have you experienced any weight gain? And overall, has it helped you? Sorry for all the questions, just knowing you have gone through this and are still continuing with the medication makes your comments and advice more credible.

Hi Olivia
I had exactly the same side effects on Cymbalta and Cymgen which is the genenic of Cymbalta.
The side effects do start to lessen in about 2 - 3 weeks and disappear in about 2 months.
I take my Cymgen in the morning as my Psychiatrist said it is one of those Anti depressants that can make you feel awake.
If you have trouble sleeping, I recommend that you ask your prescribing DR for a light sleeping tablet just to get you through the first 2 weeks.
Make sure you give yourself some time to adjust, don't be too hard on yourself.

These pills change your brain chemistry and just with that info you should give yourself a break.
Try breating exercises and don't stress too much about the loss of apetite, that WILL come back :(

hello, Olivia! How are you doing? Have things improved?

Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine and it can cause these types of side effects in some people that take it, but if they are that severe, you should consult your doctor. It might not be the right medication for you.

Learn more Cymgen details here.

And almost all antidepressants cause insomnia to some degree, because most cause REM sleep latency, so you spend less time in the deep sleep phases.
