Vyvanse Withdrawal

Updated

Needing some help. I have been taking 40/mg Vyvanse 2 times a day for about 2 weeks, before I was on just 50/mg a day but noticing the crash in afternoon and my dr decided to up my dose to twice a day. I went to take my vyvanse this morning and I can't find my bottle of meds! I was on campus all day yesterday (I'm in my last yr of grad school) and usually keep my bottle in there. I was pulling stuff in and out all day so I'm wondering if I dropped it somewhere? I've searched everywhere and can't find anything. I even called the campus police station to see if anyone turned it in (HA I know fat chance, but I was desperate) My next dr. appt isn't until Dec 19th and I don't think I could get a refill on it anyways bc of the strict stimulant prescription rules in Texas. I'm really nervous about the withdrawals, especially with finals this next week. HELP! Will I be all crazy and delusional like those meth heads I hear about on tv?! Any tips on what to do? I'm sure I sound dramatic but I'm stressin big time!

You should make sure to report them as lost/stolen to campus security, or whomever would be in charge of that and then call your doctor.

That is what would back up your claim and might convince your doctor to assist you with the problem, but you'll need to have some proof of what happened to show that they are no longer in your possession.

No, the withdrawals are not the same as those that use Meth, but they can be very miserable and dangerous.

In the future, I'd also recommend getting a small pill container and only carrying the dosage that you need for the day, rather than the entire bottle.

How are you doing, now?

Old post but someone hit the jackpot, at least in the short term. An active addict shows no remorse, knows where your pill bottle is and exactly whats in there at all times, surgically strategic in obtaining their target and can be a best friend or family member and would pass a lie detector test - but they already got what they needed and know you want suspect them.... sorry recovering addict here

OMG, I feel for you! Mine were stolen out of my house twice, and probably sold.

go to the health food store and talk with them. Maybe they can offer an alternative to get you through. Of course, talk with your doctor. Good luck. Just remember you won't die. I have had flu symptoms but they do go away.

HAve you withdrawed yet???? This is very helpful. I am 24 and work full time and go to college. I have been taking vyvanse ever since its been on the market. It is amazing and sometimes a blessing but it also is a crutch. I take it during the work week for energy and focus due to ADD and it helps but I find myself needing breaks from it, it makes my heart race and makes me nervous, anxious, and different than i normally am. I worry about being on meds forever and I dont want to take ANYTHING while pregnant so I am wondering if I should stop taking within the next few months or wait til i am finished with school? I am worried I wont be able to function without it. But I think after the withdraws are over, I may have a chance to not rely on it like I always have. Please give me some advice.

if u guys are swallowing vyvanse capsules, i think you'll be ok with the withdrawal. I took twenty of the 20mg vyvanse caps the other day cuz i couldnt get any speed, and it didnt get me outta bed, just kept me from getting totally sick.

Stay on the vyvanse, even if u go up to 500mg a day, your in good shape, i say from a decade of experience. unfortunately.

Depends on the doc's rep and his belief in his pt's story...and that's what it sounds like to me,
