What is Vitamin A made of? Can it cause poisoning? ## There are actually several things it may be derived from, so it depends on which supplement you purchase. It is also naturally available in many foods. And yes, it can cause toxicity, but only if someone takes extremely large amounts, so one should never exceed the recommended dosage or RDA, as listed by the FDA. Is there anything else I can help with?

Small round peach /pink pill with only a line in the middle ?? What could it be ## Hi Junebug, Without an imprint I initially thought this would be like finding a needle in a haystack, BUT I did come across a pill that fits your description by the name of "I-Vite oral". Apparently it's some sort of pharmaceutical multivitamin containing vitamin A, C, and E, along with lutein and other minerals. Running an image search for "I-Vite tablets" on your search engine should yield results with photographs of the pill itself. They described it as an oval peach, scored tablet, but I'm not sure about its approximate size. Can you please post back and let me know if this tablet looks familiar?

A FRIEND SHOWED ME THE PILL. IT AS A LARGE WHITE ROUND PILL. IT HAS A LINE DOWN THE MIDDLE ON ONE SIDE. THAT IS THE ONLY THING ON IT. IT SMELLS LIKE A VITAMIN. I HAVE TRIED LOOKING IT UP BUT CAN'T FIND ANYTHING ON IT. ## Hello, Maddison! How are you? There's a very good chance that it is a vitamin, since it has no markings. All prescription tablets in the U.S. are required to have markings to enable their identification. The only tablets without markings would have to be over the counter products. That said, there are many possibilities for what it might contain, but if it smells like a vitamin, then that's as good of a guess as any. Is there anything else I can help with?

Where can I find unilife plus tablets for my mother ## Hi Sapito, I'm not finding many specific details on the description or availability of this product, other than it being associated with Vitamin A. However from what little bit I could gather, the "Unilife" brand appears to be something that's more commonly known in Mexico. So I can only assume that it may be a product of that country, which would explain why information is harder to come by in US search engines. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Unilife-A Details Was your mother recommended these tablets by her doctor?

My wife gets a yellow colouring of her palms, elbow to wrist _ we suspect that it might be sulphides , is this possible ## How often is she exposed to them and in what quantities? That's not a typical allergic reaction, so to speak, but you can really never predict what some people will experience. Has she consulted her doctor to get to the root of the problem? That would be the best way to get an answer. ## Yellow?? Eyes checked. Liver functions tested?? Vitamin A overdose?

Small round white pills, with capital A beside a smallcase b (in a box) on both sides of pill. ## Hi Barry, Based on the description provided, I've identified your white pill to be Anatabloc. This is a non-prescription anti-inflammatory medication, regarded as a dietary supplement. From what I've read, it is commonly sold at places like GNC. Anatabloc is listed as containing 1mg of Antabine base + 500units of Vitamin A + 40units of Vitamin D3. For verification, there's actually another discussion thread here on the same topic, that can be viewed at: Discuss/Round-White-Pill-Capital-A-Small-B-Inside-Rectangle-235726.htm I hope this info helps!

Small round white pill. Each side has a Capital A and a lower case b which is inside a box ## This is Anatabloc. It is used as an anti-inflammatory. It is not prescription. See anatabloc.com for more information. It is sold through their website, and more recently through GNC. ## I can't find any images to confirm this information, but it does make sense in accordance with what the company lists about the Anatabloc product on their website. And if it is Antabloc, it is an over the counter supplement, as Pat stated that's claimed to help with inflammation, though this has not proven and these claims are not backed by the FDA. It is listed as containing 1mg of Antabine base, 500units of Vitamin A and 40units of Vitamin D3. There may be other ingredients as well, but I am not certa...

i was perscribed 50,000 iu of iron one day a week pill. How much is this in mg? The perscription is for 5 months. ## Hi Faye, I find that really odd that your doctor said 50,000 IU, as Iron is not measured in international units, but rather milligrams or mcg. Generally, international units are used to measure "vitamins" such as A, C, E, D, etc...and not used for "minerals" such as iron. 1 IU vitamin A = 0.3 mcg (micrograms) 1 IU vitamin D = 0.025 mcg 1 IU vitamin E = 0.7 mcg as d-alpha tocopherol The translation from IU to micograms or milligrams is different for every vitamin; and as far as I know there is no converting measurement for Iron to go from mcg or mg to IU; or vise versa. Does anyone else have any information to share regarding this?

I used the Epitrel on my stomach and my upper part under the breast and my skin is peeling help me I had dark marks and thought it would help, Please help I'm scared to go to the dermatologist he will probably think I lost my mind. P.s. it's for acne but I thought it would get rid of the black marks. ## This contains the active ingredient Tretinoin, which is an acid form of Vitamin A, which probably explains the peeling. And, as a result of what you are suffering, you basically have 2 options, either way it out and see if it clears up on its own, or go to your doctor. Since it is a chemical, I am not even sure what else may help with this type of peeling/burn, because there are some ingredients used in moisturizing lotions that may just make it worse. Has it improved any?

What is the conversion to iu's in 250 mg of vitamin A ## 250mg of Vitamin A converts over to 833250 IU. I'm not certain however if that would be 833 IU rounded to the nearest tenth, or if it is 833,250 IU. My guess is that it's 833 IU. For reference purposes, this is the site I used to make the conversion: There are other conversion sites out there that may be able to differentiate between the two possibilities I noted above. Hope this helps!
