Sorry, I can't find anything on it, many foreign meds are not regulated like they are in the US.

I also was given this medicine while in Mexico. It worked like a miracle drug. I was told to take one pill with gatorade (no food) & to then sleep for 2 hours. After the 2 hours I was told to take another pill. By that afternoon, I felt almost 100%.

I do wish I could find out more about this drug though myself. I have tried searching but have come up empty handed.

17 of 18 surfers got sick and were given treda on a recent trip to Sinaloa Mexico. It healed everyone, earlier it was administered the better the results. Looks like main ingredient is 128mg of Neomycin (from the back of the package I brought home). This is used topically (in neosporin for example) in US.. but there are warnings against internal use in this country.. It worked like magic, and only thing I can say is my bug bites lasted way way longer after this trip (possibly skin irratation side affects).

Hi, I was also given this drug in Mexico last year from a bout of the Revenge of Monetezuma... Worked liked a charm.

I recently have given it to my flatmate after he fell ill to a trip to Morocco... And after 1 day it has solved the problem.

Eddie I would love to know more if you are willing to share, all i have now is the back of the silver packaging..

Treda is probably harmless taken as directed. Here is a whole bunch of information about oral Neomycin:

I took this drug for diiarrhea in Mexico also and, although it gave me mild nausea, had positive results in one day.

...er...

I meant Farmacia Guadalajara. I would also like to note that I have (adult) friends that take it differently, as their doctor directed: two tablets for the first dose, then one tablet every 12 hours until the whole box is gone (much like a standard antibiotic). This box that I have says *nothing* about taking them all, as you can read above.

These friends are the ones that turned me on to Treda®, but it might be worth noting that the ones they gave me were big, round, brown pills, the diameter of a penny and thickness of a pencil. The ones in the box for which I have transcribed the box information above are capsules with Sulfato de Neomicina equivalent to 129 mg of Neomicina base, 280 mg of Caolin coloidal, and 30 mg of Pectina citrica anhidra.

In such cases should be suspended immediately treatment.

I live in Mexico. I have the liquid version. Just found it in the bathroom hoping it was for a cold. I can't read the instructions, they are not only in Spanish but so small even with a magnifying glass I can't see the dosage. This is for future reference, not an emergency. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Nancyu

I go to Mexico every year and sometimes especially after eating ceviche I get the runs. Treda (Neomicina tabs) work wonders with only a few pills. I never have to stay in more than a day.

DESCRIPCION

PRECAUCIONES GENERALES

Treda is a miracle! Take at the first sign of a queasy stomach. All the Mexicans use it. I was in Mexico and used Treda, and it works like a charm. I brought some home to the USA, and will never be without it again on my travels. There were no side effects and the problem goes away within hours.

My 10 year old started vomiting every 40 minutes with severe diarrhea last Sunday around 6pm. I stayed with her in the hotel room and quickly found this forum. I went to the doctor in the hotel and he put her on Meclison to stop the vomiting and Treda. Prescription was delivered at 7:30 pm. We used 20 drops Meclison in 2 tbsp water. 4 of those doses came back up within 20 minutes. The dose at 9:00 stayed down. After waiting an hour to be sure that she was done vomiting we were able to give her the first dose of liquid Treda. Now we waited. She fell asleep and made it through the night. At 6am the next morning we were deciding who was going to stay with her in the hotel room while the other went on the Vallarta Adventure zip lining with our 14 year old. My 10 year old got up, said she was ok, but tired. She went and did the entire adventure that lasted 6.5 hrs! In hindsight I wish we had taken action when she mentioned a cramped stomach at 3pm instead of taking action after she was vomiting. I bought a supply of this medication at the airport to bring home as well as bring back with us on our next trip. This drug is a MIRICLE! Pick it up when you arrive in country in tablet form. USE IT WHEN YOUR STOMACH CRAMPS! Don't wait!

I've just got back from Mexico. I had severe diorrheah, stomach cramps and felt really sick. After 2 days I saw the hotel doctor. He prescribed treda and floratil. I started them on Sunday and by Tuesday I'm just about back to normal. The floratil is to replace the good bacteria in my gut. I've got a bad headache but I think it's more due to tiredness than a side effect of the drug.
For the consultation and the 2 drugs it was 208 usd.
I was at a resort hotel and no where near a pharmacy, but I believe you can get these meds without seeing a doctor.

I was on an official trip to Mexico City and got sick, mainly diarrhea but also various other symptoms, like slight fever and general feeling of sickness, soreness. I wanted to go see a doctor there, but the project manager actually got me this medicine Treda and asked me to try it.. Just half day - I was back to normal - didn't buy it myself so don't know how much it costed. It might be something similar to the metrogyl or nor-metrogyl that we get in India but was more effective. Anyways much better than what you can get for the symptoms in such a short time in the US, for sure.

Treda IS a miracle. I buy it in Mexico every time I go there. Must have it in my medicine chest. I wish I could buy it here in the states. I need to go on the internet to see if I can order it. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. The Mexicans swear by it, and there is nothing in the states that can compare. It is available in every pharmacy in Mexico. I'm down to 8 capsules, YE GODS! You need it, you take it and you're cured. PS. I don't get sick in Mexico, but I need Treda in the states.
