Sprintec And Late Period

I recently was prescribed Sprintec and this is going to be my 3rd week taking the pills. My doctor didn't tell me to take them when I started my period so I started them the day after my visit. I have been taking them every day and haven't missed any so far. My period was supposed to start already and I'm 5 days late. Will the pills make me miss my period already or will it come later?

If you didn't start it on the first or second day of your period and were engaging in intercourse during the first week, there is a risk of pregnancy, since it would take 7 days for it to become fully effective at preventing ovulation.

Additionally, the time you will get your period will change to coincide with the 4th week of these tablets, it will no longer occur according to your natural cycle, according to the NIH.

Other side effects, according to the FDA may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, and PMS-like symptoms.
