Sintrom And Alcohol

I am currently taking Sintrom because of a blood clot and my question is related to drinking alcohol especially now with so many Xmas events coming up: How much is ok to drink in one night? I am not a regular drinker but I do like to have a few when I am out which is maybe 1-2 times/week. I have spoken to so many doctors about this and it is very confusing. I just went to see a supposely high leve expert on DVT in the UK and he told me I could drink no problem as long as I didnt fall over and hit my head or vomit but most of the doctors I have previously consulted, mainly in Spain, have told me not to drink more than 1-2 beers!!! Who should I trust??

Trust that UK expert. There is not much of risk of bleeding when combining Sintrom with alcohol. Avoid to get too drank - that's it.

I also agree with Rasto, in that you should trust the doctor in the UK. We all know too much alcohol isn't good for anyone (whether you have blood clots or not), so drinking in moderation and maintaining a sense of awareness is a good general rule to stand by.

Blood clots are definitely something you should take seriously if you truly value your life. Because of this, I would also try to refrain from eating too much processed and fatty foods, and stick to more fresh raw fruits and veggies when you are able to. Being conscious of what you put in your body becomes ever so important when it starts to effect your overall well-being and life as you know it.
