Side Effects Of Lamitor Od

My wife is been taking Lamitor OD 200 mg for last 2 years and some epilepsy drug 4 years before that. She is pregnant now. Should we continue with her pregnancy ? Will the baby be having any effect?

Lamitor-OD contains the active ingredient Lamotrigine and it has been known to cause harm to the baby if taken during the first 3 months of pregnancy.

What she really needs to do is talk to her doctor, they should be able to run tests to tell her if there are any problems, or if the infant is developing normally.

In most cases, the problems the drug caused were deformities, such as a cleft palate, but not life threatening.

Thanks for the reply. My doctor is saying that there is less chance of developing the abnormality due to Lamitor OD 200 and there is no other better medicine in pregnancy. What should I do? Should I continue with the pregnancy of my wife with sonography to check if baby has issues? or should I abort my child? I am very worried, please help me . thanks a million for your help ...

Hi!! I am taking lamitor od200 mg one in a day! Its been almost 3 years! And yesterday night i forgot to take it!! Could you plz tell me about this! Is this a serious effect or shall i take one in the morning and another one in the night means tonight!! Thanks please rply asap..
