There isn't much information available on this topic, but I did find some details that may be helpful to you. The following information was posted by another user:
"Ambien Blood Testing Reporting Limit: 2.0 ng/mL
Critical Value: n/a
Reference Range: < 250 ng/mL
This means the tests cut off limit is 2.0 ng/mL, which means the test can not detect levels lower than 2.0 ng in blood. The normal range is less than 250 ng/dl in blood."
Additional information that i've gathered states the following:
"the half-life elimination of Ambien ranges from 1.4 hours to 4.5 hours with an average of 2.5 hours. In patients that have cirrhosis, the half-life elimination can be 9.9 hours. In the elderly population, the half-life elimination can be prolonged up to 32 percent. Half-life is defined as the amount of time it takes for one-half of the medication to be removed from the body. In general, it is stated that elimination of a drug from the body occurs in approximately 4 to 5 half-lives. Taking the average half life of 2.5 hours, the average half-life elimination of Ambien would be calculated at approximately 12.5 hours. However, it could take anywhere between an estimated 7 hours to 49.5 hours for the medication to leave the body dependent upon patient specific variables such as age, medical conditions, and disease states. This is only an estimation because different patients metabolize medications at different rates. There is also two forms of Ambien on the market, one is regular release Ambien and the other is Ambien CR, which is a controlled release form of Ambien."
As you can see there is no direct answer to your question, but looking at the information above should give you some insight as to how long it may be present in your blood.
I hope this helps!
