the risper i have got for my son is blue in colour, and here it is written that risper is orange in colour? and i would also like to know what are the affects after taking risper dosage, positive and negative???

initially he had been taking fluxetine for obssessive and compulsive disorder fo 8 years. now he is 23 years old and i , the mother have stopped his medication . after he stopped he started doing funny behaviour, started staying alone , does not make eye contact, stamps his feet, keeps shaking his head, didnt want to go to parties and later he did not like his own sister also which he was very fond of previously

Risperdal, which contains the active ingredient Risperidone is available as both a name brand and a generic, thus the size, shape, color and markings of the tablet will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. There are some that are blue, some are orange and some are white. The only way to know what a tablet contains is by the markings on it.

Can you post back with the markings on the tablets, so I can look it up for you?

And as to the problems he suffered, when you took him off of the Fluoxetine, that is normal for a sudden withdrawal of any medication that affects brain chemicals, especially since he had been on it for such a long time.

On top of withdrawal effects, it can also cause rebound effects, which can be worse than the problems he started taking it for, to begin with.

A doctor would have had you do a slow tapering of the medication.
