How is this pill different from the Lotrel purple with white stripes, same dosage pill?

Hi Morgan,

The primary differences between these two pills are within the "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand. Certain inactive ingredients are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. Because everyone is different, your body may agree with one medication over the other, due to how you feel or based on whatever side effects present themselves.

When you switch brand names for example, the drug itself doesn't change, but rather the binders or fillers that they put with it.

The Inactive Ingredients found in RDY 341 are:
silicon dioxide colloidal
crospovidone
lactose monohydrate
magnesium stearate
microcrystalline cellulose
sodium starch glycolate type A potato
corn starch
hydrogenated castor oil
ferric oxide black
gelatin
titanium dioxide

For comparison purposes, unfortunately I can't research the other Lotrel brand without an imprint. But surely these ingredients would be either slightly or significantly different in some way.

Yes, they both contain 10mgs of Amlodipine and 20mgs of Benazepril, the pill with the RDY 341 marking is just a generic and the other was the name brand.
