Qualitest Alprazolam Picture

I was taking qualitest alprazalam t (generic) last night and it got caught in my throat and so I crushed it with my teeth and when I swallowed it was like a jalapeno, pure fire, and it burned for several minutes...I drank water, a lot, and it just kept burning...What can I do...Jim

In the future, you should make sure to take all pills with a full, 8 ounce glass of water, to try to prevent that from happening. Crushing it with your teeth is never a good idea, as you've experienced.

If you have trouble swallowing them and they aren't time released, it is safe to cut them in half to make it easier on yourself.

As to the burning now, what else have you tried? Have you consulted a doctor?

Since most tablets tend to be very acidic, a few days of antacids that can help soothe the irritation may help, such as Tums.
