Nexito And Restyl

Hi,
My friend is suffering from depression and also suicidal. we checked with a psychiatrist.He prescribed nexito and restyl for sleeping and depression. I m scared whether if again she thought about suicide and use those pills? Will it leads to death?

When it comes to using medications, the doctor has to carefully weigh the risks and benefits. In this case, it means the doctor has decided that she is at much greater risk, if she is not medicated.

Yes, there is a chance that such medications could make her more suicidal, but it is a very slim possibility and, since she was already suicidal, there is a much great risk to her fro not using them.

Nexito contains Escitalopram, an antidepressant.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and weight gain.

Restyl contains the active ingredient Alprazolam, it is used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. It can help with sleep issues, because drowsiness and sedation are side effects.
