Mother Very Ill
UpdatedHi my mum had a hip op on the 16th Jan, she is 81 was discharged on the 28th Jan and told to take Pradaxa, she was quite well the day she came out over the next 2 days she got ill very weak and began passing blood in her urine, our doctor arranged immediate admission back to hospital, she had various tests, they said she had kidney infection, gallbladder inflammation and possible liver problems, she turned very yellow. They began treating her on the 2nd of February I got a call to go to the hospital as she was unwell and had been vomiting blood during the night, a camera revealed ulcers on the oesphagus and stomach. She has had 4 weeks of very ill health, she is still very weak but hopefully on the mend, I don't know if Pradaxa was the cause as she only took 3 tablets, but it says to be given in caution in people over 75, have renal impairment and had previous stomach ulcers (which she has) Any one able to comment please.
