Lorazepam (ativan) False Positive
UpdatedHello. I have been taking Ativan for 7 years. I take 1mg a day. I cut it in half and take half in the morning and the other half in the evening. Yesterday I needed a refill and made an appointment with my doctor. Unfortunately he is on vacation. The nurse told me that to have a refill I needed a drug test. I said yes. The doctor's assistant came to the room and told me that unfortunately he could not give me a refill because they had found opiates in my urine. Heroin, cocaine and codeine. I thought it was a joke, well it was not. I am not feeling well, I am still in shock and no medication.
I did some research and found out that you can't take away this type of medication from one day to the other and that it has to be done gradually. I am very confused, please help. This assistant also told me that information will stay forever in my medical record.
