Levothyroxine 0.05mg

I have taken this medication for about eight weeks and have experienced some changes. First, hair loss and since I have nice hair, this is a worry. I have very little appetite and I was thin to begin with. I am 82 and wonder if these changes will persist. Also, I don't sleep well, but that is often true of aging. I would appreciate answers. I am going back for another blood test to see where my thyroid count is now.

As to the hair loss, yes, it most likely will persist. It is generally an ongoing issue, when taking this medication.

However, you should speak to your doctor regarding the appetite and sleep issues, because while they can also be caused by the medication, they may be able to help you find some solutions.
