Levothyroxin 100mcg

I have been on this dosage for a couple of years now and have been steadily gaining weight ever since.
I have changed my eating habits and have been exercising....but the weight just isnt coming off!
I think this medication is preventing me from losing the weight....any answers out there?

Have you discussed the issue with your doctor?

The weight gain may be due to your Thyroid problem itself, a natural part of aging or the medication, so it is difficult to pinpoint the exact cause.

Thus, a consult with your doctor is really necessary to try and get to the root of the problem.

well let me tell you that my doctor also prescribed me the same medication because supposely i had a thyroid problem wish it make me go from 125lbs to 175lbs i gain weight like crazy and everytime i commented to him that i was gaininig weight he said that this medication would make me help loose wish it did not....i ended up gaining 185 lbs so i gave up stop taking them and went to see another doctor well i ended up not having thyroid problems and the medication mess up my metabolism now i eat healthy and have lost about 30 lbs. my goal is to at least loose 30 more. go ahead and check with other specialist taking this medication may cause to mess up your metabolism and you will gain alot of weight... good luck
