Klonapin, Depression, And Withdrawls
(Newest replies first)

Updated

My friend who has a legal prescription for klonapin, due to her being clinically depressed. She gets 60 1mg. tabs and within 4 days they are gone.... seriously! For instance she got 60 tabs at 9pm onTuesday and by Friday they were gone. Now for the last 5 days she has been suicidal, upset and crying, and she wants and needs help. My questions are; Is the depression normal that she is experiencing, in this situation and is there anyway I can help her? Is she withdrawing from the medication? She is loosing her balance and falling. Burning her clothes, carpet and furniture. And finally how long will it take for the pills to leave her system so she is no longer experiecing these side affects. She also has a problem with Norcos at the begining of the month..

no she has not told the whole truth she finds ways to answer questions the Dr ask with half truths.... for instance she called some hotline threw CMH and they asked "are you abusing your pills now?" Her reply was "no, not right now"... But the only reason she wasn;t is because she didnt have any and was out for the previous 4 days..... She tells her DR.half truths like that also. She is in debt because she takes all of her pills right away then she borrows money to buy pills at the end of the month.. Before a DR's appointment she takes some incase her DR drops her she wants them in her system... I need to know how to convince her to get medical help....

To be honest, what your friend is doing is very dangerous and she needs professional medical help, there is no help you're going to be able to provide for this.

On top of the general risk of overdose from this blatant abuse of the medications, she is risking major organ damage, or outright liver failure. Additionally, the sudden withdrawal like that from the Klonopin can potentially cause dangerous grand mal seizures.

Has she talked to a doctor or counselor about the problem?
