Immediate Bad Reaction Levolfaxacin
UpdatedGot a respiratory infection after cleaning refrigerator coils. Excessive thick phlegm followed by ongoing loose phlegm. Doctor did blood test. Determined white cells high indicating infection and prescribed this medicine 500mg twice a day. I have only taken 2 pills and have had severe burning head pain...soreness from breastbone to belly button.
I have quit taking this medicine. Have I harmed myself with this quantity of this medicine. I am currently flooding my system with water to try to flush out this medicine. Is there anything else I can do for myself to counter its effects?

Hello, Distressed! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the problems you've had.
However, those can be normal side effects of most antibiotics, along with dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
There's really nothing you can to counter the effects, other than perhaps take an antacid, if your doctor approves. It will really just take time for the symptoms to abate.
But, you should consult your doctor, because you likely still need an antibiotic to treat this infection. They can prescribe a different one for you.
Is there anything else I can help with?
