I have deep vein thrombosis and i was operated for a clot nearly 2 years ago,now since I flew 18 hours,and havg a pain in my calf and thigh i am scared i am takg clopilet and acitrom 6 and 4 every alternate day.what do u suggest.Is the pain due to air travel/ i have aplastic anemia and my Hb is 8 Platelet is 200000 and WBC is 3500

The blood thinners basically inhibit the function of platelets in clotting of blood. Can this lead to internal haemorrhage after a long time which one may not even know due to bursting of blood vessels due to high bp.

Anxious, I hope you have consulted your doctor, by now. As to the pain, it is a very well known fact that there are problems associated with sitting still for such long flights, it can cause clotting.

Usually, before traveling any long distance, you should consult your doctor in case they want to adjust your medications and you have to make sure to get up and move around regularly, even in a small airplane.

In your case, especially having had heart surgery, you need to talk to a doctor, because it may not be safe for you to engage in sexual activity.
