Pain only occurs in prone position, Numbness in the fingers and intense pain. Pain also affects elbow and arm ## Hello, World Cat! How are you? I am sorry that you're suffering such pain. Since it only occurs in a prone position, that leads me to suspect that a nerve might be getting pinched, when you position yourself like that. Rather than using a medication, it could be treatable with medical intervention, such as physical therapy to reposition it, so it no longer occurs. Has your doctor prescribed the Gabapentin for it? It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, mood swings and weight changes.

I have had two surgeries on my knee. The last surgery had left me with nerve pain in my knee that runs up and down my leg. I have gone to too many doctors to count and have tried everything they have prescribed for me (from stretching to acupuncture to taking Gabapentin and thing like it) but nothing helps except 10mg oxycodone. The pain is horrible and sometimes the pain will last for weeks. I can't concentrate in school or even sleep. The only thing that has helped is the oxycodone but I'm 24 years old and no doctor want to prescribe it to me because they think I'm to young. Does anyone know if a doctor in San bernardino area that will help me?? Being in severe pain and not sleeping for days at a time is making me go crazy! ## Nerve pain is treated really well with Lyrica....

I have been on 300mg gabapentin for 4 years--never more--same dose the whole time. Can I start having withdrawal symptoms if the dosage remains the same? ## Hello, Gizmo! How are you? No, generally you shouldn't experience withdrawal symptoms, but the medication may start to lose effectiveness, so it may not work for you as well as it used to. What types of symptoms are you experiencing? ## I am doing okay. I am 33 months off of 1mg Xanax and 18 days off of 150mg tramadol. Just got worried about gabapentin reaching tolerance. I have been on it 4 years for hot flashes. Take at bedtime only. I am still having many symptoms from drug withdrawal from Xanax and tramadol. I found out that with tramadol and Xanax dosages have to be increased over time. Iwas sure hoping gabapentin was not l...

Does this pill have a Gluten filler in it? ## Hello, Patricia! How are you? One of the fillers in this capsule is corn starch and, as you may be aware, it is usually processed in facilities that also process wheat products, so much of it is contaminated with gluten. That means that yes, there is a possibility that there may be some in this. Are you having a problem with it? Some type of reaction? ## Hi I don't know but I took 2 pills that totaled 600mg of gabapentin and one 40 ext- release of omeprazole . Is that ok ## No so far I'm fine I just want to know if I need to see a doctor

My mom had a stroke four months ago and she having some pain on her shoulder and hands and some tingling feeling on the left side of her body (damage part of her stroke). Doctor prescribe her with Gabix but did not help at all. WHAT can she take to help her with the pain, she cant sleep well at night.... Can she take Neurogen-E too? Please help. Thank you ## Hello, Larni! How is your mom doing? How long did she take the Gabix and at what dose? That's not an actual analgesic. Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that has been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain, but it will take about 4 to 6 weeks to reach its full efficacy level in the body. What else has she tried? Does she take any other medications?

Can you please tell me if Gabapentin usp 400 mg comes in an unmarked white and purple capsule ## Not in the U.S. All manufactured prescription medications in the U.S. are required to have imprints to enable their identification. The only time a prescription medication would be in an unmarked capsule would be if it were something specially ordered by a doctor and done by a compounding pharmacy and it would make no sense in this case, since this medication is already available in standard doses. That said, they are most likely some type of over the counter product, since they are not required to have imprints and be logged with FDA. Is there anything else I can help with?

i started taking this pill yesterday and i woke up today and have had the worst mood swings and panic attacks, horrible thoughts in my head, constant crying i only took two pills and its been about 6 hours since i took the last one should i go to the e.r. ? ## Hello, Smokie! How are you doing? Have things gotten any better? This medication can cause those types of issues as side effects, when you first start taking it, but unless you are suicidal they usually don't require an ER trip. But what happened? Did you continue taking it? Because if they were that bad, this might not be the right medication to help you. Have you consulted your doctor?

My doctor just prescribe me 100 mg of gabapentin 3 times a day. I've been taking it 2 days now and I've had no pain relief and no side affects. Should I try taking two at one time? I'm on medicaid and my Dr. Has like a bajillion patients and I can never get a hold of him. II'm always on hold for 30 minutes so I figured I'd ask here. I'm also taking 10/325 norco and 20 mg of prednisone ## Hello, Jes! How are you? I think you may be misunderstanding, this isn't actually an analgesic. Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that has been found to help with certain types of nerve pain, due to the way it acts on brain chemicals. So, it's not going to work in just 2 days, it will take about a month, before you know whether or not it is going to help you at the current ...

I have been taking Gabantin 300 3 times daily for the past two months. Single last two days, I have reduced the quantity to 2. I have started feeling dizziness. Is this a common symptom when the dosage is reduced. ## Yes, the active ingredient Gapentin is an anticonvulsant that can also help with certain types of nerve pain and as a mood stabilizer. What all that means is that it's having an effect on your brain chemicals, so whenever you cut the dosage, or try to stop taking it, you will most likely experience some withdrawal and/or rebound effects. I'm taking 1800mgs 4 times a day and there's really no high but it keeps me off the booze. I'm tapering down 200mgs a day so in a bit it will all work out. ## Hello, Delance! How are you? No, there wouldn't be a high from this. Though many people misunderstand because it can help with some types of pain, it is not an actual analgesic. It is an anticonvulsant. Tapering down by that much a day could cause some withdrawal and rebound symptoms, such as dizziness, drowsiness, diarrhea, nausea, pain and headaches, so please be careful. Do you have any questions or concerns? ## Valentin is a drug for many disorders you will not feel high on it.
