False Positive On Hair Follicle Drug Test For Methamphetamines (Page 6)

I have custody of my two oldest children and their mother has a problem with methamphetamines. I know this for a fact because that's why we separated, but she is claiming that the positive hair follicles that she has taken and failed are all because of her asthma medicine. Are there any asthma medications that cause a false positive on both methamphetamines and amphetamines on a hair follicle test??

Yes it can show how much as well. Even if they touched a surface that the Methamphetamine was on, it will get in their system.

My case worker said I dropped dirty for methamphetamine and cocaine in a hair test. I'm currently taking hydroxyzine, prazosin, sertraline and cold medications. Will i drop dirty for these due to my medications?

Can albuyerol sulfate show up in a hair follicle for methamphetamine? That's the only thing me and my kids took. We all did the same treatment for colds and showed up positive for methamphetamine.

Hi guys, I do drug and alcohol screening down here is Australia. I cant beleive that hair testing is employed so frequently in the US given the time and expense in doing it. Of course i get a lot of questions about substances and medications and cross reactions and my best advice is always ask your friendly pharmacist. Im sure its the same for you guys but chemists here do 6+ years of university training and they know everything there is to know about substance interaction in the human body. Doctors are not anywhere near as knowledgeable as its not their speciality and i wouldnt take the word of a doc if your very freedom or family depends on it.

I'm a fifty year old man dealing with the effects of Multiple Sclerosis entering my 10th year. I do not take ton of meds to fight this disease as in the beginning. Tysabri and Norco 7.5 only as needed and several over the counter supplements and vitamins. That's it. I grew up in the 80's and actually had some success as a drummer in a metal band. So of course I did experiment, but that ended in 93' along with my full time music career, thanks Nirvana! I failed a voluntary hair follicle hair test for methamphetamine. What would cause this to happen?

My mother which is 73 years old recently got a hair drug test at her place of employment which is a big Casino/hotel in Las Vegas and it tested positive for methamphetamine but she's never done a drug a day in her life nor is on any prescription medications. She does live with a house full of her grandchildren which are all older and have friends in and out of the house all the time, so it is possible they may of smoked drugs in the house from time to time but she never has. Is it possible to get tested positive by 2nd hand smoke? Her company is doing a 2nd test on her and we're crossing our fingers that it reads correct. If not we are considering seeking a lawyer to handle the situation. How could this happen??? And is there anyway of preventing it in the future. Please help!!!

I am going through the exact same thing I haven't done anything in six months or longer and it came back that 1400 parts per milligram and they said it has to be zero or I don't get her back. I cannot even see her unsupervised and I've never been charged or found with any drugs on me ever or done around her. What were the responses to your question? What happened to you?

The results will depend on what drug you use and how often. His hair follicle will go back about 3 months. Different drugs show up chemically different but also in different locations of the hair shaft. Opiates collect in the middle of the hair follicle, amphetamines (methamphetamine) cling to the outside of the hair follicle so they are harder to detect. If your guy is using opiates (pain meds., etc) or marijuana even if it's only occasionally it will likely to show up on the drug test. If methamphetamine (amphetamine) is truly all he uses and only occasionally (less than once a week) it is possible he will pass his drug screen.
