Effectivity Of Nordette Contraceptive (Page 2)

Hi, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I went to my OB last week and she told me that I was ovulating. And then my boyfriend accidentally ejaculated inside of me. After 20hrs I took the first 4 pills, and took the next 4 an hour late (because I fell asleep). Help me please? Is there a possibility I could get pregnant? Please, I'm really scared.

Hi. You mentioned you bled last jan2? How are you taking nordette? As regular ocp or do you always take it as ecp? Sometimes its the effect of the pills that youre experiencing. If you have headache everytime after you bleed and if youre using nordette as a regular ocp, you may want to change your ocp to another brand. If youre using ecp everytime u have unprotected sex, you should refrain from doing it since it disrupts the regularity of your cycle. Better if you have the regular ocp but with another brand.

@calendargirl: Sorry sis, Feb 2 - Feb 5 was my WB, not January. Sorry about that. Hmm. I used it as an ecp, thrice already but different months. I guess I need to use PT just to be sure. By the way, my regular period will be in 6 days, which I guess will not come because I took nordette. Magiintay ako ng another month right para sa normal period ko? Thanks sis.

Hi cheerleader. I guess you will not bleed as per regular mens ( that is, due in feb16) because you had withdrawal bleed last feb2-5. Your next estimate would be next month again. The wb could be counted as your mens. If you take nordette again after today, your cycle will change again and you might not know when youll have the true bleed or the wb. Makes the cycle a bit confusing. So just be careful and contemplate to have the regular ocp just to be on the safe side. If not, use barrier methods.

Hello po.ask ko lang is it okay after i took nordette, so xpected 7days will come pero until now wla pa. I tok it last feb 11,i followed right the instructions naman.
And we had unprotected sex feb 9.

Hello. As ive come across literatures, some do not really bleed. The withdrawal bleed is the consequence of the side effect of nordette or any ecp for that matter. While some do not experience it, it doesnt mean the ecp did not work (that is, if you took it the right way). While in my case, i bled after 12 days. Hope this helps.

Hello. You can update here so that we learn from each other our experiences. When you take nordette, your blood would either be bright red or dark red. And you might experience cramps which you might not have experienced while not taking ecps.

Hello. It would be better if you use a regular ocp because with nordette on a monthly basis, your cycle will get confused. If not, just be careful always and use barrier methods.

Hi. As per ffup question, for cheerleader, headache may a sign of hormonal changes brought about by your pill intake. But we should not rule out other causes too. If you continue to experience headaches even without the withdrawal bleed, then it might be better if you consult a physician for further assessment. Yes how is everyone doing by the way?

Hi, I just wanna share my story..i had unprotected intercourse with my bf on the last day of my period june 25th at 12:30 am, natakot ako khit alam kong di nmn ako fertile so nagtake ako ng nordette june 27th at 12:25 pm then after 12 hours 4 pills ulit..after 6 days july 3rd nagbleed ako di nmn heavy pero the next day lumakas n rin sya and may cramps until now, tanong ko lang is this the withdrawal bleeding? or ito n rin ung mens ko for the month?

It is the withdrawal bleeding when you take nordette. Usually happens within 7 days in some women. It may be your first day of mens too. From that, recount again for the next cycle. So that when you take nordette, the cycle changes so you have to take note of it. If you take it monthly, your body will get confused. Thats worst as guessing game for your cycle. So just be careful everytime. You can opt for regular ocp. You can consult your ob for pills.

If you want to be sure, you can do preg test maybe after 2 weeks from your first day of mens. Because if its not a withdrawal bleed then in 2 weeks time, the preg test might give you a clue. But usually from my readings, if you take nordette within 72 hrs, and have a bleeding within 7 days, chances are the nordette worked in the way that it had already altered the cycle.

it's just a little bit confusing for me because i just had my period last june 23-25..i took the pills 36 hours after the intercourse,do u think it is withdrawal bleeding and not implantation bleeding ? m sorry im just really paranoid here..

Hi everyone, I had sex with my partner last June 18 and I took nordette at 1:08 pm the same day, after 12 hours I took 4 pills again. I did experienced WB, I guess because I had bleeding spots on my panty liner but I forgot to take note of the date, and today was my period schedule July 7 and I am bleeding. Is it my period already? I used PT yesterday as well and it turned out negative. Thank you.

Jess: if you had unprotected sex on your last day of period, you are not fertile definitely. Your bleeding after you took nordette will mean the effect of nordette on your cycle. It may also mean the first day of your mens again for the next cycle. Remember, any hormone you take will alter your cycle. In short, it will confuse your regular cycle. It will make it either short or long depending on your body's response. In your case, you bled within 7 days. Its the withdrawal bleeding from the nordette. If you want peace of mind, you can check preg test after 2 weeks if you like.
