I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Cindy... There are many people who do have varying degrees of success. The only way to know is to go through the process of diagnostic injections and then have the procedure. I had to pay my copays (not bad) of course... But the procedures are very expensive otherwise... Will your insurance cover them?? If so, I say go for it!!! :)

Mtn I really hope this works. I've got considerable nerve pain and it would be nice to know there MAY be something out there I could try that I already haven't. Try to go easy on yourself, no more vacuuming and heavy things and maybe you will feel better sooner.

This is a bunch of B.S., and I don't mean bachelor of science! This is supposed to be a kind of support group being that we are in the same area. A decent doctor will be able to weed out seekers and junkies...otherwise, maybe working in retail is more suited to them!

Every decent doctor I have ever dealt with wants their name out there so more patients will seek their services. If a person goes to a true main management doc, there is imaging and testing and the doc makes sure things are in order...and nearly always require a referral from a PCP.

Telling someone to look through over 100 pages is just wasting a person's time. Sorry if I knotted someone's knickers, but this crap gets me hot.

Tree hugger , you just have to read the posts .Noone is going to give up their doctor anymore due to the doctor office getting flooded by junkies .

Wendy im sorry your husband is stil nt feelin well have you tried callin and see if he cld be seen 2day or 2ommorrow cuz he hurtin so bad?? You 2 are still in my prayers everyday and at church we pray every sunday for you 2

I am a little pertrubed... When I posted this morning about making my last appt with S, I was feeling pretty good. I thought the nerve ablation pain had settled, and I was ready to move on! However, just did grocery shopping and a good amount of driving for errands... And the pain has returned!! I called the office and the MA said that it might take up to two weeks to know for sure if it worked. So, I'm hoping and praying this is still "healing" pain :(
It's too bad hubby couldn't get in sooner... Hopefully there won't be crazy snow!! We are akreading getting a temp drop down here... So I know you guys did!! Take care!!

Wendy mac janeygirl mtn girl tammy2.. Just givin every 1 a heads up went 2 my appt at S office and had 2 do a UA this morning but I didnt freak out but was suprised since I been there 3 months or a little longer and wendy im sorry your husband is stil nt feeling good. hopefully wednesday he will get the meds he needs 2 start feelin better. u guys are still in my prayers at church and each day

Hi Moutain ,Tom still hurting bad he sees Dr S Wed hopefully he gets medicine to start to heal this.The poor man looks like I starve him , he can't eat anything without labor pains best way to describe. The truck had a hose problem she's moody .How are you sweetie are you doing ok ?

No Moutain I'm still with Cpr .I could of went to S but right now he's cleaning out his Pt roster .Besides I need a tow truck to bring all my records to him .

Believe me, we all know how it is to have doc's deny us or treat us terribly! I'm not sure where u live but most go to CPR, which is in Wheatridge. They recently went throught some "growing pains" but now have a great doc that u should b happy with! If this doesn't work, there are others I can give! Just remember, u will need a referral and depending on your diagnosis a MRI or other diagnostic materials! Take care!

Yes mtn grl they are open. I just left and 4 any 1 else who goes to S office, I just did my 1st UA banfiled said all pain patients will have 2 do it this month; so Mac tammy2 co susie wendy if u go there

Where & how did you find a doc? I've been on the same meds for yrs, bt 1 thing or another comes up & they join other docs & then don't want to deal w 'chronic pain' & sure don't understand it! I'm in an area where no one understands & looks like I'll need to travel, in order to get the care I need. I'm not doc or drug shopping, I jst need some real help from docs who understand my health issues. This process has to be 1 of the most difficult & humiliating experiences, I have to go through! How can they not understand you can be to sick to even move, let alone look for a doc that understands. I've been living w these issues & are getting worse w age for over 16yrs, yet some of these people think they know my body & life, better than I do??! If anyone has any helpful info, please get back to me! Thanks =)

It is true that everyone is different and there is a great combo for everyone. It will never take all your pain away. But it will make you comfortable enough to where you can live a SEMI normal life.
